The players are back out in the middle. The Indians walk out in a good mood, so that shows that they are not too disappointed with the opportunity of not getting to 150. Sophie Devine and Rachel Priest will open the batting for New Zealand. Interesting choice from the Indians. Deepti Sharma has been given the ball.

0.1

Full and outside off, pushed straight to cover.

0.2

0.5

FOUR! Terrific shot. Full and outside off, Priest gets down and sweeps it powerfully through mid-wicket!

0.6

Shikha Pandey will bowl from the other end.

1.1

Good length ball on off, Devine guides it to the point region for a single.

1.2

Good length ball on off, Priest defends it to cover.

1.3

Short ball on the pads, Priest looks to pull but it takes the thigh pad and rolls to the keeper.

1.4

OUT! CAUGHT! There goes the first wicket. Full and outside off, Priest looks to play the slog but gets a top edge. The ball goes high in the air and Radha Yadav takes it calmly. India needed this wicket as Priest was threatening to play quickly. 121 more needed from 110 balls.

Suzie Bates walks in.

1.5

Around off, defended watchfully.

1.6

Full and outside off, pushed straight to cover. Just a run and a wicket from the over. 13/1

Rajeshwari Gayakwad into the attack now.

3.1

This is worked through mid-wicket for a single.

Review for LBW! Shikha wants the review, but keeper Bhatia says no. Skipper Kaur goes with the bowler.

3.2

NOT OUT. India lose a review. A length ball, down the leg side, Devine looks to flick but misses and is hit on the pads. Shikha appeals but the umpire does not raise his finger. The bowler wants a review but the keeper advises against it. The captain goes with the bowler but Ball Tracker shows it to be missing leg stump.

3.4

Comes down the track and swings hard but misses it.

3.5

Outside off, punched off the back foot.

3.6

4.1

Full and outside off, pushed straight to cover.

4.2

4.3

4.4

Outside off, played through point for a quick run.

4.5

Excellent bowling. Devine comes down the track and seeing that, Gayakwad fires it outside off. But Sophie adjusts and pushes it towards cover.

4.6

Around off, watchfully defended. 28/1

Deepti Sharma gets a change of ends. 1-0-12-0 are her figures so far.

5.1

Comes down the track and pushes it towards long on for a single.

5.2

Full and around off, well blocked out.

5.3

Another single, eased down to long on.

5.4

OUT! BOWLED! Paddled onto the stumps! Bates would be furious with herself. Full and outside off, Bates gets a long way across and looks to paddle. But she simply does not get any pace to work with. All she manages to do is hit it straight onto the stumps! Big, big wicket for India. New Zealand need 104 from 86 balls.

Maddy Green walks in, with the rub of the green going India's way.

5.5

Full and outside off, Green looks to run it down to third man but misses due to the lack of pace.

5.6

Outside off, pushed straight to cover. New Zealand finish the Powerplay on 30/2. India were 49/1 at this stage. The Kiwis need 104 from 84 balls. 30/2

Here comes the strike bowler. Poonam Yadav to bowl.

6.1

Short and outside off, punched through the covers for a single.

6.5

Outside off, watchfully pushed to the off side.

Is that a stumping? Terrific glovework from Taniya Bhatia. Referred upstairs. Safe.

6.6

SAFE. Full and outside off, Green lunges to defend but misses. The ball loops and then spins away. Bhatia collects and whips the bails off, appealing. It is referred upstairs but replays show that the foot did go in the air but was back quickly. 33/2

Radha Yadav to bowl for the first time.

7.1

Full and around off, watchfully defended.

7.2

Tossed up outside off, Devine comes down the track and hammers it straight back to the bowler. She is struggling.

7.3

Full and down the leg side, worked straight to short mid-wicket.

7.4

Fires it into middle, following the batter down the leg side, Devine goes back and looks to punch but gets a bottom edge.

7.5

Comes down the track but can only push it back to the bowler.

7.6

Works this through mid-wicket for a single. 34/2

8.1

OUT! CAUGHT! Taken off a full toss! Once again, the Indian spinners are having their say. Floated outside off, Devine comes down the track and takes it on the full. That is a high full toss to boot. 9 times out of 10, that would have gone out of the park. But does not happen today. Devine mistimes this very badly and the ball lobs off the top edge. Simple catch for Radha Yadav at point. New Zealand losing their way - need 100 more from 71 balls.

Katey Martin walks in at number 5, replacing Devine.

8.2

Full on middle, Green pushes this towards long on for a single.

9.4

Comes down the track and flicks it towards mid-wicket. The fielder fumbles and that results in a run.

9.5

Short and outside off, cut straight to point.

9.6

FOUR! Finds the gap. Short and down the leg side, Green goes back and pulls it behind square leg. Beats the fielder and gets it to the ropes. 46/3

Rajeshwari Gayakwad into the attack now. 2-0-11-0 so far.

10.1

FOUR! Consecutive boundaries for New Zealand. Short and outside off, Martin rocks back and cuts it through point. Finds the gap and beats sweeper!

10.2

Short and outside off again, Martin looks to cut but misses.

10.3

Full and outside off, Katey comes down the track and pushes it towards short third man.

10.4

Short and outside off, cut towards point again.

10.5

Comes down the track, is beaten in flight, is nowhere near the pitch of the ball and just jabs it to the leg side. It is just beside the pitch and the batters take a quick run.

10.6

FOUR! Second boundary of the over. 79 needed from 54 now. Short and outside leg, Green rocks back, swivels and pulls it through fine leg. The stand is worth 21 from 17 balls. 55/3

11.1

In the air... but safe. Full and around off, Martin looks to play the paddle but gets it off something, over the keeper. The batters take a single, leg bye signalled.

11.2

Full and outside off, pushed straight to short extra cover.

Bob Carter, the New Zealand batting coach, is down for an interview with Nasser Hussain. Carter says that they will take it ball by ball and keep the scorecard ticking over. Says that they made a couple of great stops in the field but also dropped some catches which should have been taken, otherwise the ground fielding was excellent. On being asked whether it would be nice if they win without Devine contributing, the coach chuckles and then agrees.

11.3

TOP EDGE, SAFE! Shikha Pandey loses it in the sun. Full and outside off, Green looks to play the slog sweep but gets a top edge. The ball lobs in the air towards square leg but Pandey running across from short mid-wicket loses it in the sun and backs off. Strange. She has the glasses on, but on the cap. Why not wear them over the eyes? A single taken.

11.4

Short and outside off, punched through the covers for one.

11.5

SIX! THUMP! Full and around off, Green comes down the track and sends it sailing over deep mid-wicket!

12.5

FOUR! Finally she connects well. Full and outside off, Martin gets down and across and sweeps it powerfully through mid-wicket.

12.6

Outside off, punched wide of cover for a single. 71/3

Shikha Pandey is back on. 2-0-4-1 so far.

13.2

Full and outside off, powered down to long off for a single.

13.3

Full and straight, whipped through mid-wicket for a run.

13.4

On middle and off, hit down to long on for one more.

13.5

Full and outside off, driven down powerfully but long on is pretty straight. Just a single.

13.6

INSIDE EDGE, MISSES THE STUMPS! And an overthrow is conceded as well. Poor backup by Deepti Sharma. Full and outside off, Martin gets across, initially looking to paddle but then, seeing the line wide outside off, she looks to run it down to third man. All she manages is a thick inside edge which misses the stumps and goes to short fine leg. The fielder comes running in, has a shy at the striker's end but misses. Deepti Sharma lazily jogs to her right from short extra cover and makes no attempt to stop the ball. Allows it to go through to long off and the batters return for the second. 77/3

Rajeshwari Gayakwad returns. 3-0-20-0 so far.

14.1

Full and outside off, Green looks to sweep but misses.

14.2

OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Excellent take from Taniya Bhatia. Full and outside off, Green comes down the track, looks to go inside out but misses. The keeper collects and whips the bails off. It appears that it is a stumping but then we are informed that it is a catch. Snickometer confirms. The good-looking 43-run stand has been broken. New Zealand need 57 from 34 balls.

Who is in next? Amelia Kerr to face the music.

14.3

Outside off, guided straight to short third man.

14.4

Short and outside off, Kerr looks to cut but gets a thick outside edge. The ball lands in front of short third man and the batters cross over.

14.5

Short and outside off, cut powerfully but straight to point.

14.6

Full and outside off, Martin comes down the track and drives it towards long off for one more. Just 2 runs and a wicket from the over, Rajeshwari finishes with figures of 4-0-22-1! 79/4

Deepti Sharma is back on. 2-0-14-1 so far.

15.1

Full and outside off, Martin mistimes her slog towards deep square leg for a single. Moves to 20 from 23 balls.

15.2

Short and outside off, Kerr looks to cut but misses. There is a mild appeal for a caught behind but the umpire is not interested.

15.3

FOUR! Gets it through this time! Full and outside off, Kerr reaches out and drives it between cover and point and finds the gap.

15.4

Short and outside off, hit straight to Poonam Yadav at short third man. The initial call is NO but Martin calls Kerr through for a quick single. Poonam is very slow to release the ball and the run is completed with ease. 49 needed from 26 balls.

15.5

Sees the batter come down the track and fires it wide outside off. Martin can only drive it back to the bowler.

15.6

Comes down the track and works it through mid-wicket for a run. 86/4

Radha Yadav to bowl out now. 3-0-17-0 so far. Shafali Verma is seen sitting in the dugout. Nasser Hussain on air informs that she has hurt her elbow.

16.1

Full and outside off, Martin looks to drive but gets a thick inside edge onto her pads.

16.2

FOUR! THUNDEROUS! Full and outside off, Martin swings this over mid-wicket and splits the fielders in the deep!

16.3

OUT! CAUGHT IN THE DEEP! The last recognized batter departs as well and India have one-and-a-half feet into the semi-finals. Short and outside off, Martin comes down the track and swings it powerfully over mid-wicket. The connection sounds good but when the ball completes the trajectory, Jemimah Rodrigues is there to take the sitter! Martin goes for a fighting 25 from 28 balls. New Zealand fighting a losing cause - 44 more needed from 21 balls.

Hayley Jensen comes in for the final rites.

16.4

Short and outside off, cut through point where Rajeshwari Gayakwad dives to her left and parries it to short third man. Just a single.

16.5

Works this through mid-wicket for a run.

16.6

Comes down the track and works it through mid-wicket for a couple. 4-0-25-1 for Radha Yadav. 94/5

17.1

Outside off, Jensen looks to cut but misses.

17.2

Short and outside off, cut through point for a single. 39 more needed from 16 balls.

17.3

Full and outside off, pushed down to long off for one more.

17.4

Full and outside off, Jensen gets to the pitch of the ball and lofts it over covers. Sweeper gets across to her left and dives, keeping the ball in play. Three runs taken.

17.5

Full and around middle, Kerr looks to slog but gets a thick inside edge onto her pads. Thinks of a run but is sent back.

17.6

TWO RUN OUTS MISSED ON THE SAME BALL! Full and outside off, Kerr drives this straight back to the bowler. Jensen is backing up too far and is gone for all money. But Deepti, for all her time-taking and under-arming, misses the stumps at the bowler's end. They go for the single now and mid on quickly gets to the ball. Because Jensen tried to get back, she is a bit late in taking off. The throw comes in to the keeper's end but it hits Jensen who comes in the way. 100/5

Poonam Yadav to bowl out. 3-0-14-1 so far.

18.1

FOUR! THWACK! Short and outside off, extremely slow in pace, Kerr goes back, waits, waits, waits and pulls it over short fine leg!

18.2

Full and outside off, lofted wide of long off. Good running stop by Deepti Sharma to her left. Two runs taken.

18.3

FOUR! For the second time in the over! Again, Kerr waits for the ball to arrive after getting across. Picks the length and heaves it over short fine leg!

18.4

Once again, Kerr attempts the paddle-pull by getting well outside off but this time the length is pretty full. Amelia misses.

18.5

FOUR! Third boundary of the over! Lobbed up outside off, Kerr comes down the track, takes it on the full and drives it through the covers.

18.6

FOUR! 18 from the over! Full and outside off, Kerr reaches out and lofts it over cover for another boundary! A rare expensive over from Poonam Yadav - 4-0-32-1 today. 118/5

Shikha Pandey to bowl the final over. 3-0-10-1 so far. 15 to defend.

19.1

FOUR! Good start to the over! 12 needed from 5. A length ball, outside off, Jensen throws her bat at it and gets a thick inside edge. The ball misses the stumps and goes past short fine leg!

19.2

CATCH DROPPED! Full and outside off, Jensen hammers it straight back. Shikha tries to catch but cannot. The ball bursts through her hands to long off and it is a run.

19.3

Misses out on a full toss, swinging it straight to mid on for a single. 10 needed from 3.

19.4

Full and on middle, pushed through mid on for just one. 9 needed from 2.

19.5

FOUR! 5 needed from the final ball! These are some exhibition of nerves. Full and outside off, Kerr brings out the reverse paddle and scoops it over short third man! Are we in for a Super Over? A boundary will do it!

19.6

OUT! Confusion in the end but INDIA WIN AND ARE THROUGH TO THE SEMIS! Pandey bowls this full and outside off, Amelia gets across, looks to swing but misses and is hit on the pads. The ball deflects to the off side and all they can manage is just a leg bye. Shikha quickly gets to the ball and fires a throw at the keeper's end. Hits and it is referred upstairs. Replays show that Jensen was looking for the second while Kerr was not interested at all. VICTORY BY 3 RUNS!

Kudos to New Zealand for fighting hard and taking this close but they could have won if, had the fielding been better or had the batting against spinners got going. As has been the case throughout the tournament, India crossed 130 and then defended it. They bowled better and fielded exceedingly well.

The White Ferns would be disappointed, not because of the loss but the mannerism of the defeat. They bounced back superbly after a strong second-wicket stand by India but then, kept dropping catches. Adapting to slow, turning pitches has been a challenge for many teams and the opponents are increasingly finding it difficult to play the Indian spinners. Four spinners played in this game and their combined figures were 16-0-106-4. Shikha Pandey, the lone seamer, did well with figures of 4-0-21-1. Please stay tuned for the presentation...

Shafali Verma, the Player of the Match, says that she is very happy with her performance and she wants to keep doing that for the team. Adds that they were not giving any loose balls and she was just looking to take singles and doubles. Credits her father and the boys in her academy where she trained for her good performances.

Sophie Devine, the New Zealand skipper, says that she thought that the bowlers did a terrific job and to restrict India to 133 was an amazing effort. Adds that the pitch looked a bit pacy but they failed to adapt. Praises Hayley Jensen for her performance. States that they got pretty close today but failed at the last moment. Goes onto say that they would take the positives from this game.

Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian skipper, says that it is a great feeling and they have learnt a lot from the last three games. On batting better in overs 7 to 15, Kaur says that they got a good start but they could not carry the momentum forward. Stresses that they kept on repeating the mistakes in all the games. On the bowling, the Indian skipper says that they bowled well but sometimes they struggled to hit the right lines and lengths. On Shafali Varma, Kaur hopes that she continues performing well as her runs at the start is really important for them.

Right. That ends another thrilling game. India earn their third win and romp into the semis. Who will be the next team? New Zealand? Australia? Or someone else? It is a tough passage. The second game of the day is between Australia and Bangladesh which will begin at 7 pm local (0800 GMT). Do join us for that game.
