  • As for the Oman bowlers, Aamir Kaleem was the pick for them as he snapped up a 3-fer conceding just 14 runs. Khawar Ali also bowled well as he took a 3-fer too. The bowling unit for Oman was in sync all along and there were no loose ends to target. Oman have to chase down a small target of 103 runs and it should be a comfortable one for them. Can Hong Kong spring an upset? Stay tuned to find out.
  • A quick interview with Aamir Kaleem. He starts by thanking the Almighty and says that this performance has made his birthday special. Feels the wicket is not easy to bat on as the ball was gripping. Tells that they planned to not give easy runs. On the target, he hopes to scale it down without losing too many wickets.
  • Oman elected to bowl after winning the toss for the second time in a row and they have executed their game plan perfectly right from the word go. They never let the Hong Kong players get going and runs were difficult to come by as the pitch was on the slower side. The ball was gripping and the Hong Kong players struggled to score runs as a result. Nizakat Khan was the only batsman who got going a bit but he too scored at a rate of less than run-a-ball. Only two batters other than him even reached double digits.
  • 19.6 OUT! RUN OUT! So Hong Kong have been bowled out for 102! The last ball is a full one on middle. The batter swings but it goes off the inner half towards the leg side. They take one and go for the second which was not on. The fielder from mid-wicket picks the ball up and underarms it to the keeper who whips the bails off.
  • 19.5 A short one on middle, it is ducked under.

  • 19.1 On the stumps, this is kept out.
  • 18.6 OUT! CAUGHT! Shahid Wasif departs and Hong Kong are 99 for 9 now! Fayyaz bowls another slower delivery on a good length outside off. Wasif tries to smash it down the ground but mistimes it. Aamir Kaleem runs in from long off and takes the catch. Fayyaz Butt finishes with figures of 3-016-12 and he has been top notch today. Hong Kong struggling to cross the 100-run mark. 99/9

  • 18.4 Rana pushes this fullish one towards mid off for a single.

Barkat gets onto the back foot and looks to push it back past the bowler but does so uppishly. He does not time it well and Khawar Ali takes a sharp catch stretching to his right. • Shahid Wasif is the new man in.
  • 14.6 OUT! RUN OUT! Suicidal stuff from Hong Kong here! There was never a run available but the pressure must be getting to the batsman now. Shortish ball outside off, Barkat cuts this one just wide of the man at point. Aqib Ilyas there collects it and throws it on the go to the keeper who whips the bails off in a flash. Simandeep is well short despite his dive and he has to depart. Getting to 120 looks like a big task from here now. 83/6
  • 14.5 On middle and leg again, Singh pushes this towards long on and rotates the strike.
  • 14.4 Now plays this one through mid on for one.

  • 11.6 OUT! Another one bites the dust! Half the side back in the hut and the score is just 5 more than 60. McKechnie brings out the reverse sweep as he looks to be innovative. He though ends up hitting it straight to point where Aqib takes a sharp catch. The hole keeps getting deeper for Hong Kong. 65/5

  • 10.3 Floated on the pads, Nizakat comes down the track and slaps it down the ground towards long on. The fielder there lets it through between his legs and misfields. However, he does well to recover as he dives behind and fields it inside the field. Three runs taken.

  • Waqas Barkat is the new man in for Hong Kong. Can he arrest the slump?
  • 9.1 OUT! Caught and bowled! We saw Kaleem pick a wicket on the second ball of his first over and now Ali takes one on the first ball of his first over. A soft, soft dismissal. That was a nothing delivery from Ali. A loosener. Short and on middle, Arshad could have hit it anywhere. He though ends up playing the pull shot very early. It goes off the bottom edge and straight back towards the bowler who may not have been expecting it. The ball hits his shoulder and to his luck pops up. After that it becomes an easy catch. Two wickets in quick succession. Hong Kong in trouble.
  • Khawar Ali to bowl his leggies now.
  • 8.6 A loud appeal but turned down. This is fired on the pads, the batsman looks to work it on the leg side but misses to get hit on the pads. Going down leg one can say. End of a successful over by the spinner. 51/2

  • Haroon Arshad, the 20-year old, is the new man in.
  • 8.2 OUT! In the air... and straight to the man! The fielder in the deep did not have to move an inch. Kinchit thought he could take on the left-arm spinner with the ball turning into him. He brings out the slog sweep. The boundaries here are long so he really needed to hit it well. Does not do so and it goes straight to the man at deep mid-wicket where Jatinder Singh takes it and then does the Dhawan-like celebration. Poor shot selection to be honest, that ball was a little too full to play that shot. Joy for Oman as they have put a stop to a budding stand. Kaleem strikes on the second ball of his spell.

  • 6.6 SIX! First maximum of the game! Nizakat Khan dances down the track and slams this floated delivery on middle and leg over the mid-wicket fence. That is the largest part of the ground and there is a man there but he times it superbly and clears the fence with ease. 45/1

  • 3.6 Short ball outside off, Nizakat opens the face of his bat and plays this one over the point fielder inside the circle for a couple. 26/1

  • Kinchit Shah is the new man in. He played a good knock in the last game and he needs to play one more here.
  • 3.4 OUT! CHOPPED ON! The skipper for Hong Kong departs cheaply again. Fayyaz bowls a short ball outside off, it is slow in pace and stays a touch low after pitching. • Greetings and a warm welcome to Match 13 of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Qualifier between Hong Kong and Oman. Oman come into this game on the back of a comfortable win over the hosts, UAE and they will be high on confidence. Their bowling was clinical and they were never in doubt of losing that game as they made the best use of the conditions. As for Hong Kong, they were brutally defeated by Ireland who thumped their bowlers all around the ground. The only bright spot for them was the performance of Kinchit Shah who showed some fight. Oman will be looking to gain another two points and make it two wins out of two whilst Hong Kong will be looking to earn their first points of the qualifiers. Stay tuned for all the action.
