  • It's going to be an uphill battle for Delhi for sure. 150 was touted to be a winning score on this slow surface, now they have to score almost 170 to win the game. Mumbai will surely back themselves to defend this out. If the home side is to win this contest, then it will need one or two from its top 4 to score the bulk of the runs. Let's see how it goes.
  • Amit Sharma who is up for an interview says he is feeling very good and he is happy to get to 150 wickets in this League. Mentions he always tries to vary his pace and he looks to bowl according to the situation. Reckons there is not a lot of turn but the wicket is on the slower side. Ends by saying, they can chase this down but feels the visitors have got a good total on the board.
  • Delhi will be disappointed with how they let things slip. It was an up and down innings for them. They didn't start off well, but then pulled things back in the Powerplay, and then let it slip again in the death. The spin duo of Axar and Mishra did well, while the pacers, barring Ishant Sharma, were taken for runs. One wonders why he wasn't asked to bowl in the death, given he had an over left and only gave away 17 in his 3 overs.
  • Once again it's Hardik Pandya to the rescue for Mumbai. He's been in fine touch this season and he's delivered once again. After opting to bat on this slow deck turning slower as the game progressed, Rohit and de Kock got Mumbai off to a brisk start, scoring 57 in the Powerplay itself. It looked like Delhi would be in some trouble, but a few wickets in relatively quick succession, with the two openers departing in the space of 3 overs, saw the hosts make their way back into the game. They were climbing on top too, but Hardik, along with his brother, took the attack to the opposition. As many as 64 runs came in the final 5 overs and Mumbai have posted a superb score on the board.
  • 19.6 LEG BYE TO END! Still an 18-run over. MUMBAI FINISH WITH 168 ON THE BOARD! A good delivery to end. Rabada follows Krunal with a short one on the body. Krunal looks to pull but gets hit on the body. The ball rolls towards short fine leg for a single.
  • 19.5 FOUR! Another full toss and another boundary! 17 from the over with a ball to go. This is outside off, Krunal carves it through point and it goes to the fence.
  • 19.4 FOUR! In the gap! Fuller in length and on middle, the batter whips it through mid-wicket. It is away from the fielder in the deep and a boundary results. The last over too is turning out to be a big one.
  • 19.4 WIDE! Way too wide outside off, KP does go after it but misses. It has been wided.
  • Kieron Pollard is the new batsman in.
  • 19.3 OUT! In the air... taken! Rabada has the last laugh but a brilliant innings from Hardik. He has provided the much-needed impetus. Rabada changes his length and bangs it short on middle, too quick for the younger Pandya who looks to pull but only manages a top edge. It goes to the left of Pant who takes an easy catch.
  • 19.2 SIX! This guy has such a strong forearm. My word, how has he hit that for a biggie. That is full and on middle, Hardik Pandya brings out the helicopter shot, he connects it right off the middle and it flies over the long on fence. 8 from the first two balls.
  • 19.1 A high full toss, not very high. Krunal fails to take full toll of it. He strokes it to mid off and takes a run. The fielder has a shy and had he hit, Krunal was a goner but he misses.
  • 19.1 WIDE! Down the leg side, Krunal looks to flick but misses. It has been wided. Pandya will be disappointed with himself as a flick there would have fetched him a boundary.
  • Kagiso Rabada is back into the attack.
  • 18.6 FOUR! Finishes the over in fine fashion. 15 from it. Mumbai really accelerating here in the final few overs. High full toss and Hardik shuffles across quickly. He hits this fine down the leg side and ends the over with a boundary. Morris had bowled a good over, but these last two balls have ruined that. 150/4
  • 18.5 SIX! He's in unbelievable form, isn't he? Superb hit from Hardik Pandya. It's a low full toss on middle and leg as Morris misses the attempted yorker, Hardik flicks it with his strong wrists and dumps it into the backward square leg stands.
  • 18.4 The slower one on the pads, Pandya works it through mid-wicket for a single. This is a very good till now.
  • 18.3 In the air... but it lands in no man's land! A slower one on middle, Krunal lofts it straight up in the air towards mid-wicket. The bowler runs after it but can't reach it. Two taken.
  • 18.3 WIDE! First wide of the match. Bowls it down the leg side, Krunal looks to go after it but misses it.
  • 18.2 Bowls a yorker on leg, Hardik flicks it towards square leg for a run.
  • 18.1 Hardik just about keeps it out! That is a corker of a yorker from around the wicket on middle, Pandya somehow manages to get bat on ball as he hits it to short fine leg. Does not run.
  • 17.6 Full on middle, Hardik Pandya heaves it over mid on for a run. 17 runs have come from the over. The pitch is on the slower side and is deteriorating as the match is progressing. All these runs are vital for the visiting side. 135/4
  • 17.5 SIX! That is out of here! Massive! This is guy can probably hit anything over the ropes at the moment. It is the slower one, it is full and on off, Hardik picks it, waits for it and tonks it over the long off fence.
  • 17.4 FOUR! Stand and deliver! Full and on middle, Hardik stands tall and whips it to the mid-wicket fence. Second boundary in the over.
  • 17.3 Bowls a slower off cutter on leg, Krunal flicks it towards mid-wicket for a run.
  • 17.2 FOUR! Cheeky! Brilliantly played! This is on middle and he has managed to get it to the third man fence. Once again a seam-up ball going for a boundary. It is on middle, Krunal stays leg side of the delivery and just opens the face. It beats the fielder at short third man and into the fence. Boundary early in the over.
  • 17.1 Length delivery on off, Hardik plays it towards long off for a run.
  • Keemo Paul is back into the attack.
  • 16.6 FOUR! That has been brilliantly squeezed out! This is very full and outside off, Krunal just opens the face at the very end and hits it past the diving point fielder for a boundary. Morris bowled the seam-up delivery on the last ball. Maybe that is not the way to go on this surface. 118/4
  • 16.5 Length delivery on off, Hardik punches it towards point for a run.
  • 16.4 Length delivery on middle, Krunal flicks it towards square leg for a run.
  • 16.3 Full on leg, Hardik plays it towards mid-wicket for a single. Just 2 runs have come from the first three balls.
  • 16.2 On a good length on off, Hardik drives it straight towards Morris.
  • 16.1 Full on leg, Krunal flicks it towards square leg for a run.
  • Chris Morris is back!
  • 15.6 On a good length and outside off, Pandya looks to pull but does not play that shot and defends it off the back foot. 110/4
  • 15.5 Full toss on leg, Krunal lofts it over mid on for a run.
  • 15.4 FOUR! Poor line and it has been put away! Down the leg side, easy pickings for Krunal. He flicks it to fine leg and the ball races away.
  • 15.3 Length delivery on middle and leg, Krunal flicks it towards mid-wicket for a run.
  • 15.2 Short of a length delivery, Hardik pulls it towards mid-wicket for a run.
  • Strategic break. Hardik Pandya is the new man in.
  • 15.1 OUT! Caught behind! A good catch by Pant there. Yadav looks to be innovative but those are brilliant when they come off and ugly when they don't. This time it does not come off. He tries to play the paddle scoop but Rabada seeing that, bowls it outside off. SKY still continues with the shot, it though goes off the toe-end to the right of Pant who takes it with a dive. The set Yadav is out, just at the wrong time for Mumbai.
  • 14.6 Tossed up on middle, Yadav punches it to long on for a run. Axar Patel finishes his spell with figures of 4-0-17-1. Great spell from him. 104/3
  • 14.5 Tossed up on middle, Krunal punches it towards long on for a single.
  • 14.4 Floated on off, Yadav plays it towards covers for a run.
  • 14.3 Floated on middle, Yadav hits it towards the right of Axar Patel where he dives and stops a single.
  • 14.2 Takes a few steps down the track and mistimes it to long off for a run.
  • 14.1 A big heave there but nothing! Looks to go over the mid-wicket fence with the turn but gets an inside edge onto his pads.
  • Axar Patel is back!
  • 13.6 Bowls a yorker on off,Yadav does well to dig it out. 8 runs have come from the over. A decent over for Mumbai. 100/3
  • 13.5 100 up for Mumbai. Short of a length delivery, Pandya pulls it towards mid-wicket for a run.
  • 13.4 Short of a length delivery, Yadav pulls it towards fine leg for a run.
  • 13.3 FOUR! Excellent shot! Slightly short and it is the slower one. Yadav waits for it, arches and then upper cuts it over the keeper's head. Rabada's pace would probably be a little suitable for the batsmen on this wicket.
  • 13.2 On a good length and outside off, Pandya plays it towards point for a run.
  • 13.1 A little too straight and it is flicked through square leg for a single.
  • Kagiso Rabada is back now!
  • 12.6 Play and a miss! On a good length and outside off, Krunal looks to cut but misses it. Good comeback from Keemo Paul after going for 16 runs in his first over. Just 4 runs have come from the over. 92/3
  • 12.5 Short of a length delivery, Yadav pulls it towards mid-wicket for a run.
  • 12.4 Full on off, Pandya drives it towards mid off for a run.
  • 12.3 Short of a length delivery, Yadav pulls it towards mid-wicket for a run.
  • 12.2 On a good length on middle, Yadav looks to flick but gets an inside edge onto the pads.
  • 12.1 That stayed very low. The pitch is playing very slow and low. On a good length on off, Pandya somehow plays it towards point for a run.
  • 11.6 Full on middle, Krunal drives it towards mid on for a run. Just 4 runs have come from the over. Mumbai need big overs to reach 160 mark. 88/3
  • 11.5 Flighted delivery on middle, Yadav flicks it towards square leg for a single.
  • 11.4 Flighted delivery on off, Pandya comes down the track and drives it to long off for a run.
  • 11.3 Tossed up on off, Yadav plays it towards covers for a run.
  • 11.2 Yadav makes room and Axar continues bowling it on the stumps, SKY cuts it to point.
  • 11.1 Flatter and on off, it is kept out.
  • 10.6 Short and outside off, Pandya cuts it towards point. 84/3
  • 10.5 Tossed up on middle, Yadav flicks it over mid-wicket for a run.
  • 10.4 Flighted delivery on off, Krunal drives it towards mid off for a single.
  • 10.3 Turns away from the batsman, Yadav plays it towards point for a run.
  • 10.2 Short delivery on middle, Yadav pulls it over mid-wicket. The batsmen get two runs.
  • 10.1 FOUR! A very clever shot! Yadav is quickly down on one knee and instead of a paddle sweep, he plays a paddle scoop, over the keeper's head and into the fence.
  • 9.6 Short and outside off, Yadav slaps it through covers for a run. 5 runs and a wicket have come from the over. Decent over from Axar Patel. 75/3
  • Krunal Pandya is the new batsman in.
  • 9.5 OUT! A big mix-up and de Kock is out of here! This is probably the last thing Mumbai would have wanted, de Kock was really playing well out there but he has to walk back. This is fired outside off, Yadav cuts it to the left of Rabada at point. De Kock feels there is a run and sets off. Rabada though gets to the ball quickly. Seeing that, Yadav refuses for the single. It is too late though as de Kock is right next to him. Kagiso throws it to the keeper who lobs it to the bowler who takes the bails off. A dejected de Kock is walking back and Mumbai in a spot of bother here.
  • 9.4 Flighted delivery on middle, de Kock plays a slog sweep over mid-wicket for a run.
  • 9.3 Floated on off, Yadav drives it towards mid off for a run.
  • 9.2 Full on leg, de Kock flicks it through mid-wicket for a run.
  • A discussion between Iyer and the two umpires but not sure for what. Maybe he did not like Morris throwing the ball on the bounce.
  • 9.1 Shorter in length and fired on the stumps, this is punched down to long on for a single.
  • Strategic break.
  • 8.6 FOUR! Pace on the ball and it has been put away! This is fired in, full and on off. De Kock whips it in the gap in the mid-wicket region and bags a boundary. So despite the boundary, only 7 runs from the over. 70/2
  • 8.5 Floated on middle, Yadav drives it straight back towards the bowler where he tries to stop it but it goes through him. The batsmen take a run.
  • 8.4 Tossed up on off, Quinton plays it towards point for a run.
  • 8.3 Flighted delivery around leg, de Kock looks to sweep but gets hit low on the pads. Mishra appeals for lbw but the umpire shakes his head. Probably it was pitching outside leg.
  • 8.2 Tossed up on middle, Yadav sweeps it towards square leg for a single.
  • 8.1 Floated on middle, Yadav plays it to covers.
  • 7.6 Full on off, Yadav drives it to long off for a single. 4 runs and a wicket have come from the over and 8 runs and 2 wickets from the last two. 63/2
  • Suryakumar Yadav is the new batsman in.
  • 7.5 OUT! Cutting is a goner! That is as plumb as it gets. This is flatter and on middle, Cutting looks to sweep but misses. It hits him on the pads. An appeal and the umpire raises the finger. Two quick wickets for Delhi and they are right back in the contest. Cutting's comeback into the team is not a good one.
  • 7.4 Tossed up on middle, de Kock sweeps it towards the leg side for a run.
  • 7.3 Flighted delivery on off, Cutting plays it towards covers for a run.
  • 7.2 Tossed up on middle, Cutting sweeps it through square leg for a run.
  • 7.1 Floated on off, de Kock plays it to point.
  • Axar Patel is on now!
  • 6.6 Tossed up on off, de Kock makes room and guides it towards third man for a single. An excellent over for Delhi, just the two runs and a wicket from it. They needed such an over. 59/1
  • 6.5 Short delivery on middle, Quinton pulls it to mid-wicket.
  • 6.4 Floated on middle and leg, de Kock looks to sweep but gets an inside edge onto the pads.
  • 6.3 Flighted delivery on middle, Cutting tucks it towards mid-wicket and gets off the mark.
  • 6.2 Floated outside off, Cutting plays it to point.
  • Ben Cutting is the new batsman in.
  • 6.1 OUT! TIMBER! Amit Mishra strikes straightaway! A poor shot by Rohit to be honest. Mishra bowls this flatter, lands it on middle and gets it to turn away a little. Sharma is rooted to his crease, he first tries to play it on the leg side but then tries to adjust to the turn by playing it with a straight bat. It is too late by then as the ball beats the outside edge and hits the stumps. Amit Mishra is delighted and an excellent bowling change by Iyer. Rohit does have a weakness against leg spin and that is what brings his downfall here. A much-needed wicket for Delhi. They will now look to pull things back.
  • Amit Mishra is into the attack.
  • 5.6 Just a single from the Free Hit! Slower one and on off, Sharma pushes it through covers for a run. 16 from the last over of the Powerplay and on this slow wicket, the visitors are off to an absolute flier. They are 57/0. 57/0
  • 5.6 SIX! It is also a NO BALL! Poor bowling by Paul. He bowls a high, very high full toss. Rohit smashes it over square leg for a biggie. The next ball is a Free Hit.
  • 5.5 Takes a few steps down the wicket but mistimes it towards mid-wicket for a run.
  • 5.4 Goes very full on off, de Kock looks to squeeze it through the off side but finds cover.
  • 5.3 SIX! Into the stands! Once again a length which de Kock just loves. Short and on the body. He picks it up and sends it sailing into the square leg stands.
  • 5.2 Another back foot punch but once again the gap is not found, the ball though is to the left of the cover fielder so a single is possible.
  • 5.1 Back of a length on off, the batter stands tall and punches it to covers. A dot to start the 6th.
  • Keemo Paul to bowl the last over of the Powerplay!
  • 4.6 On a length on off, Sharma plays it towards the off side for a single. 9 runs have come from the over. 41/0
  • 4.5 Ishant bowls it on a good length on leg, de Kock makes room but Ishant Sharma did not give him enough width to free his arms to play the cut shot. It goes towards point for a single.
  • 4.4 Full on leg, Sharma flicks it over mid-wicket for a run.
  • 4.3 FOUR! Not sure Rohit intended it to go there. Actually replays show he did intend to hit it there. Length and outside off, Sharma slaps it past mid off and the ball races away to the fence. Mumbai off to a very good start.
  • 4.2 Length delivery on middle, de Kock makes room and plays it towards covers for a single.
  • 4.1 Full on leg, Sharma flicks it through mid-wicket for a single.
  • 3.6 SIX! He has nailed this cross-batted shot! This is once again on the shorter side but on the body. De Kock feeds on such deliveries, he pulls it with aplomb over the square leg fence. First of the game and an expensive first by Morris, 16 from it. 32/0
  • 3.5 OHHHH! Just over the off pole. This delivery is short and on off. de Kock looks to pull it across the line but the ball just does not bounce as much as he expects it to. He misses and it goes over the off pole. Cross-batted shots, just not the right option on this wicket.
  • 3.4 FOUR! Full toss and put away! Second boundary in the over. On off, de Kock strokes it past mid off and it races away.
  • 3.3 Full on middle, Sharma drives it straight past the bowler towards mid on for a run.
  • 3.2 EDGY FOUR! Full marks to the bowler but runs to the batsman. Length and on off, Rohit looks for the hoick across the line but due to the low bounce, he gets an inside edge which goes close past the leg stump and to the fine leg fence.
  • 3.1 Full on leg, de Kock comes forward and flicks it over mid-wicket for a run.
  • Chris Morris is on now!
  • 2.6 On a good length on middle, Sharma looks to play a slog sweep but misses it and gets hit on the body. Ishant appeals for lbw but the umpire shakes his head. Probably it would have missed the stumps. 4 runs have come from Ishant's over. 16/0
  • 2.5 On a length on off, de Kock punches it towards point for a run.
  • 2.4 On a length on middle, Rohit flicks it towards mid-wicket for a run.
  • 2.3 On a good length and outside off, Sharma comes down the track and goes for the big shot but misses it. The ball straightened a touch after pitching and hence, he did not connect. Also, a few words from Ishant to Rohit but both have a smile on their faces.
  • 2.2 Length delivery on leg, de Kock flicks it towards mid-wicket for a run.
  • 2.1 Full on leg, Sharma flicks it towards fine leg where the fielder tries to stop but he falls down and gets up and throws it. The batsmen take a run.
  • 1.6 Short of a length delivery, Sharma pulls it towards mid-wicket for a single. 12/0
  • 1.5 On a good length on off, Sharma plays it to point.
  • 1.4 FOUR! Crisp and in the gap! Rabada is guilty of bowling it a little too full, Rohit creams it through covers and the ball races to the fence. First boundary of the game.
  • 1.3 On a length on leg, de Kock works it towards short fine leg. Amit Mishra fumbles while collecting the ball and concedes a run.
  • 1.2 Rabada bowls it on a length on middle, de Kock flicks it to mid on.
  • 1.1 Length delivery outside off, Sharma guides it towards third man for a run.
  • Kagiso Rabada to bowl from the other end.
  • 0.6 On a length on middle, de Kock flicks it through mid-wicket. The batsmen get two runs. 5 runs have come from the first over. 5/0
  • 0.5 Length delivery on middle, de Kock looks to tuck but gets an inside edge onto the pads.
  • 0.4 On a good length again on off, Sharma plays it towards covers for a run.
  • 0.3 On a good length on middle, de Kock looks to defend but gets hit on the thigh pad. Ishant appeals for lbw but the umpire shakes his head. The ball goes towards the off side. The batsmen take a run. The umpire gives it as a leg bye.
  • 0.2 First run for Mumbai. Length delivery outside off, Sharma guides it towards third man and gets off the mark.
  • 0.1 The ball misbehaves straightaway! That stays low! Behind a driving length and outside off, Rohit looks to drive but the ball stays low, goes underneath his bat and on the bounce to Pant. Judging by the first ball, Mumbai may just have won a good toss.
  • Sourav Ganguly rings the bell and we are all set for the action to begin. The Delhi players are out in the middle. Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock will open the batting for Mumbai. Ishant Sharma will start the proceedings for Delhi.
  • Delhi XI (Unchanged) - Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Colin Munro, Shreyas Iyer (C), Rishabh Pant (WK), Axar Patel, Chris Morris, Keemo Paul, Kagiso Rabada, Amit Mishra, Ishant Sharma.
  • Mumbai XI - Rohit Sharma (C), Quinton de Kock (WK), Suryakumar Yadav, Krunal Pandya, Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya, Jayant Yadav (IN), Rahul Chahar, Ben Cutting (IN), Lasith Malinga, Jasprit Bumrah.
  • Delhi skipper, Shreyas Iyer, says it is a good move that they (Mumbai) are batting first. Informs that they are playing with the same team as they don't want to change the momentum. Ends by saying that they too want to continue the way they are playing and hope they continue winning.
  • Mumbai skipper, Rohit Sharma, says they are batting first. He feels the wicket is a touch slow and runs on the board is the way to go on such a surface. States that last time they failed in chasing here. Mentions that Delhi is a smart team and they play well here and Mumbai have to be clever as well. Informs they have a couple of changes, one forced and the other due to the wicket - Ishan Kishan is sick and he is replaced by Ben Cutting and Jason Behrendorff misses out and Jayant Yadav comes in. Ends by saying that they want to continue the winning momentum.
  • TOSS - It is Mumbai who win the toss and they bat first.
  • It is a battle between the sides placed second and third in the table, two sides which head into the contest on the back of victories.
