  • Bangalore further lost their way after Patel's departure as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Chennai were hoping to finish things quickly at that time but Southee had other ideas. He scored vital 36 runs and helped his team reach some respectability. The Chennai bowlers were outstanding, in particular, the spinners. Jadeja and Harbhajan kept a tight lid on the scoring rate and ruled the middle phase of the innings. The other bowlers were also clinical with their performance and altogether the home team will be delighted. Will it be a cakewalk for Chennai? Bangalore though would be trying to replicate similar kind of bowling performance. Do join us in a short while for the chase.
  • Great bowling performance by Chennai, although Tim Southee stole the show a little bit towards the end with his cameo. It was a messy inning from Bangalore as Parthiv Patel and Tim Southee were the only two batsmen who managed to get past the double-digit scores. Brendon McCullum, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers failed to get going and were dismissed inside the first ten overs. With the best three back in the hut, the pressure was on Patel to anchor the innings, which he somewhat succeeded in. He scored a fighting fifty but just when his team needed him to up the ante, he offered a simple return catch to Jadeja in the 13th over.
  • 19.6 OUT! Run out! Low full toss on the stumps, Mohammed Siraj aims to hit that one out of the park but gets it off the toe end of the bat to wide long on. They want the second and go after it. Ambati Rayudu from the deep returns an accurate throw to Dhoni who takes the bails off as Siraj dives to get in. Replays show that he's well short and the third umpire signals it out. CHENNAI RESTRICT BANGALORE TO 127/9!

  • 19.5 Tim dances down the track even before the ball was delivered. He swings his bat hard and gets a thick inside edge to short fine leg for a single.

  • 19.2 Big mix up but Chennai miss out on a run out opportunity! Southee gets a thick inside edge to short fine leg, Siraj was long way down the track but the Kiwi isn't interested and sends him back. Chennai Super Kings Vs Royal Challengers Bangalore Live Score (T20) Ball by Ball Commentary

  • Ravindra Jadeja grabs the Man of the Match award for his tremendous bowling effort. His figures of 4-0-18-3 never allowed Bangalore to get going. That's all from this game. It was a one-sided affair and it has pushed Bangalore on the brink of elimination. Next up, Hyderabad are facing Delhi in the second match of the evening. The first ball isn't far away. • 8.4 OUT! Clean take, take a bow Southee! Short of a length delivery on middle, Suresh Raina backs away and swings across the line. Doesn't get it off the middle and it goes towards long on. Seemed like it would clear Tim there but... No. The tall Kiwi pacer leaps, takes it over his head near the rope. Now the momentum takes him over the line so he shows good awareness as he lobs the ball up, goes inside the rope and then comes back to catch it again. Never easy to take those but he has made it look really simple. They however, take it upstairs and the TV umpire is happy with Southee's effort. 66 needed from 68 balls.

Murugan Ashwin in the deep returns a good throw to Parthiv who fails to gather the ball cleanly which allows Raina to get back in safely. Had he collected it cleanly and whipped the bails off, Suresh would have been sent packing. Two added to the total.
  • 6.4 SIX! Up and over long on! Stays leg side of the ball, gets it in the arc and swings across the line. Seemed like the long on fielder would be interested but the ball goes well over him and over the fence. This should get Raina going.
