  • So it's only taken the Windies under 5 overs to deal with the Bangladesh tail and Only 9 runs were added in this time. Jomel Warrican was brought on and he made an instant impact. First got rid of Naeem Hasan and then, after a hiccup or two, managed to dismiss Mustafizur Rahman. The hosts would have liked to touch 350, but they certainly won't be disappointed with what they have on the board. Now it's up to the Windies to respond. Let's see how they do against the Tigers' spin attack on this slow and turning surface.
  • 92.4 OUT! Mustafizur is gone this time! Warrican wraps things up in his first over. He once again bowls it around off, it's a tad short in length and turns in. Mustafizur is on the back foot to flick it away but is caught on the pads again. Another appeal ensues and the finger goes up again. The DRS is called into action once more and it's taken upstairs. This time, the replays show that the Fizz is gone for all money. BANGLADESH ARE BOWLED OUT FOR 324!
  • Another review. Same batsman, same call... for a leg before. Will Mustafizur survive again?
  • 92.3 Works it off his pads on the leg side. Dot ball.
  • 92.2 Safe! Well, well well... the impact is outside off. A good review in the end. Warrican lands it outside off and it spins back in, Rahman goes back to play at it but gets caught on the pads. Loud shout and the finger goes up. The Fizz, after talking to his partner, signals the 'T'. Replays show impact is outside off. So he survives.
  • Review taken. Mustafizur is caught leg before and given out. He's decided to take it upstairs. Looks close.
  • Mustafizur Rahman is the last man in for Bangladesh.
  • 92.1 OUT! Good bowling. Warrican takes the wicket the moment he comes into the attack. This is what West Indies wanted. Tossed up outside off stump, Naeem looks to drive but gets an outside edge towards first slip where Shai Hope takes the catch. A handy partnership of 65 runs comes to an end. Bangladesh lose their 9th wicket.

  • We are ready begin. The overnight batsmen Taijul Islam and Naeem Hasan walk out to bat. The Windies spread out across the field. It will be Kemar Roach to take the new ball first up. Two slips and a gully in place for him. Here we go...
  • There is a minute's silence before the start of play, in memory of match referee David Boone's mother who recently passed away.
  • Hello and welcome to Day 2 of this Chittagong Test. It was a lot of back and forth in terms of momentum on the first day. The hosts were cruising along well on the back of a century and a fifty stand, both involving centurion Mominul Haque, and were looking set for a big score, but Shannon Gabriel picked up 4 vital wickets in the space of 15 balls in the final session to bring his side back into the game. Though, Windies' failure to clean up the tail could prove costly as Taijul Islam and Naeem Hasan remained unbeaten at Stumps with a 56-run stand and the home side has crossed 300. The plan now for the visitors will be to take the remaining two wickets fast and come out to bat, while the Tigers will look to add as many as possible. The wicket is already turning a lot, and it will do even more, so expect a good, feisty contest today.
  • ... Day 2, Session 1 ...
  • This Test match is nicely set up now. We have seen the ball already turning on Day 1 itself and with Bangladesh having 4 spinners in their ranks, they will look to make the most of it. The tail, before that, will look to add as much as possible. Join us for Day 2 of this Test at 0930 local (0330 GMT). Till then, take care!
  • Apart from the third-ball wicket at the start of the day, Windies were not doing anything with the ball. They didn't trouble the hosts and let them get away with the game. But post Tea, Shannon Gabriel struck gold. He picked up Haque, Rahim, Mahmudullah and Shakib in the span of 15 balls and pegged back the home team. The tourists had a good chance to even bat on Day 1 but couldn't get rid of the last two wickets.
  • A fightback from both sides in a single day. In the end, one will say that Bangladesh will be the happier team. Not really, but just edged it. They lost the early wicket of Soumya Sarkar in the first over itself but then Mominul Haque and Imrul Kayes took control of things. The duo added 104 runs together for the 2nd wicket with the former scoring a well-deserved ton, his 8th in this format equaling Tamim Iqbal. Shakib Al Hasan then looked in command but fell to a Shannon Gabriel special. Just when Bangladesh looked like they would be bowled out today, Naeem Hasan and Taijul Islam wagged the tail and stitched an unbeaten 56-run partnership.

  • 79.1 Not out! Bishoo's front leg is fine, but the ball is missing leg stump. Just doing too much. The leg break is landed outside off and it turns a long way in, Islam is well forward in defense and is caught on the front pad. A loud shout goes up and the umpire raises his finger. Taijul quickly takes the review and it's taken upstairs. Replays first show that the front foot is fine. Then when Ball Tracking is checked, it is shown that the ball is spinning down leg. Good review in the end.
  • The DRS is taken again. Taijul Islam is given out leg before but wait... it seems Bishoo has overstepped his line. If that's the case, it'll be the second time that's happened in the day.

It goes upstairs and replays show all three reds on Ball Tracker. Bangladesh have been shook early after the Tea break. 226/5

Join us in a short while for the last session of the day.
  • 111 runs from 31.1 overs with just a single wicket. It's really been a tough time out there for the Windies bowlers. Their front-line seamers are not doing enough. Only positive for them is that the ball is turning quite a bit but they need to make the most of it.

Roach got Sarkar out for a duck but since then, Kayes and Haque did well to take things in their stride and make a century stand, with the latter stroking a fine fifty. Imrul was given a couple of lives, where he had a catch dropped and was caught off a no ball too, and it seemed like this pair would see the session off. But, Warrican managed to get him late in this opening session. Bangladesh still firmly in control, having scored 105 runs, but this could be the opening the Windies needed. • Pitch Report - Tino Mawoyo out in the middle says that the wicket is really dry and there are already a few cracks in the area which will be more prominent as the game progress. • Hello and welcome for another tour in this part of the subcontinent. Zimbabwe were here just a few days ago, and now Windies have travelled for a 2-match Test series against Bangladesh. Before this series has even begun, the visitors have been dealt a huge blow with Jason Holder missing out due to a shoulder injury. Kraigg Brathwaite will take over the captaincy reins in his absence, and it will be interesting to see how he leads the side out. The Tigers, well, did well to draw against the Chevrons. They will take some momentum from that and the fact that their talisman and regular skipper Shakib Al Hasan has returned from injury. You'd tip the scales in the hosts' favour for now, but we've all learnt from time to time, it's a world belonging to the unexpected. The toss and other updates to come soon....

Bangladesh Vs West Indies Live Score (TEST) Ball by Ball Commentary

  • Windies trail by 78 runs at the end of it. It could have been much worse, had it not been for Hetmyer's counter-attack first and then a late fightback from Dowrich. Both stroked attacking fifties and their 92-run stand really pulled things back for the tourists. Bangladesh have their noses ahead for sure, and they would like to pile on this healthy lead that they have. But, if the Windies could pluck a few wickets before end of day's play, things just could get really interesting. Join us back in a short while for Bangladesh's 2nd innings.

  • ... Day 2, Session 3 ...
  • An eventful session comes to a close. 133 runs were scored in the session, but three valuable wickets fell. Ambris and Chase were sent back early by Naeem Hasan, but then Shimron Hetmyer came to the middle and he went mental. Where other batsmen were struggling, he was pummeling the ball like it was just another day in the nets. He powered his way to a fine 63, but soon departed to Mehidy Hasan after making a 92-run stand with Dowrich. Windies still trail by 137 runs. Bangladesh are into the tail now, so a lot rides on Shane Dowrich. Will be interesting to see how he does.

  • ... Day 2, Session 2 ...
  • What a riveting session of Test cricket as 5 wickets in total have gone before the Lunch break. Bangladesh are clearly on top here. It started with the Tigers being bowled out rather early for 324, and when Windies came out to bat, the Bangla spinners did the trick once again. Taijul got rid of Powell first, then Shakib bagged two in his very first over dismissing Hope and Brathwaite. He should have had two more and the visitors should have been 5 down by now, as both Ambris and Chase were dropped off the Bangla skipper's bowling. The afternoon session is going to be mighty difficult for the away side. Do tune in for all the action.

  • 11.6 OUT! Second of the over for the man with the golden arm! What an over this has been. He gives this plenty of flight and pitches it on off, Brathwaite is drawn forward to defend but the Windies skipper loses his balance somewhat in the process. Big appeal and the umpire responds by raising his finger. Kieran, however, is quick to signal the 'T' and it's taken upstairs. Replays show a big spike on Snicko.

Bangladesh Vs West Indies Live Score (TEST) Ball by Ball Commentary

  • Windies will rue the dropped chances as it's enabled the home side to score some valuable runs on top of that. Maybe they will be content on the whole with how they've fared overall, having first reduced the Tigers to 55/5, then taking the remaining 5 rather quickly this morning. Now, the visiting side has a big task on its head. Batting on this tricky surface won't be easy at all. The chase is on for sure. It's about to begin shortly.
  • So, in whose favour are the scales tipped? Difficult to say. The hosts would have liked to get close to 250, but a target of just over 200 isn't too bad either, given the nature of the wicket. Bangladesh lasted just under 19 overs, and scored 70 runs in that time. Bishoo was the star of this morning as he plucked three wickets, and Chase and Gabriel picked up the remaining two.

Chase tosses it up on the stumps, Islam comes down the track and looks to go big downtown, but can only hit it as far as long on. Warrican there watches the ball carefully and gobbles it up. • Hello and welcome for what could be the final day of the Test, if it plays out like it did on Day 2, that is. Bangladesh currently lead by 133 runs, which would be a good thing usually, but they've lost 5 wickets already. The surface is turning square and the spinners are running riot. But, in saying that, if they manage to cross the 200-mark, things would very much tip in their favour. Rahim and Mehidy are out there, and it's clear the onus lies on the former who see his team through to that point. Chase, Warrican and Bishoo have all chipped in with the wickets. It remains to be seen how this first hour of play goes, which will be most crucial for both sides.
  • ... Day 3, Session 1 ...
  • The day began with Bangladesh being bowled out for 324, and then the Tigers put in a spirited performance with the ball, wherein debutant Naeem Hasan took a 5-wicket haul. If it wasn't for Hetmyer and Dowrich, the tourists would have been in deep trouble. Instead, because of their attacking prowess and the backing of their bowlers, they are still in with a shot. If proceedings follow suit like today, then Day 3 could very well be the final day of this Test match. The action begins at 0930 local (0330 GMT). Join in for that. Cheers!
  • Bangladesh may have the slightest of edges, but in no way are Windies out of this game. After being bundled out for 246 in this final session itself, they came out firing and scalped 5 Bangladesh wickets to really peg them back. Chase and Warrican bagged 2, while Bishoo took 1 of his own. The wicket is turning and there's a lot of bite on it, which became the reason for the Bangladesh top order's undoing. Some rash choice of shots didn't aid them either.

  • 15.2 Not out! Mehidy survives! No edge on that. Lands on middle and off and it turns away slightly, Mehidy stays inside the crease to defend but the ball goes past the bat and Rahim gathers it. An appeal goes up but nothing from the umpire. The review is taken and replays show no edge, they also check for the leg before and it's clipping the off stump, so umpire's call. The review is retained.

Bangladesh Vs West Indies Live Score (TEST) Ball by Ball Commentary

  • So that's it from this one. Bangladesh lead the series and will look to seal it in the second and final one, which takes place in Dhaka on 30th November. Windies have plenty of work to do, even more so now with Shannon Gabriel missing that crucial game. Tune in at 0930 local (0330 GMT) for all the action. In the meantime, you can switch tabs and catch all the action from the ongoing SL-ENG and PAK-NZ Test matches. Cheers!
  • Bangladesh captain, Shakib Al Hasan, says the debutant Naeem Hasan was brilliant in the first innings as he has the talent to pick wickets and hopes he will get better with more games. Feels that those little contributions from the tail in the first innings were crucial and mentions that it can prove to be all the difference in a game like this. On his newly achieved record (Becoming the fastest to 3000 runs and 200 wicket in Tests) he says that he tries his best and gives all he can for the team.
  • Man of the Match, Mominul Haque, says thankfully they won the toss and batted first, which made it easier for him as batting got difficult later on. States that he had the support from his skipper and his teammates and ends by saying that he doesn't consider this as his home ground as he's a professional and all are the same to him.
  • Windies captain, Kraigg Brathwaite, says it's a tough loss and credits the Bangladesh team for playing well. Adds that he wanted more from his bowlers. Mentions that they lost wickets early and weren't able to build partnerships, which was the reason for their undoing. Reckons it was a tough pitch to bat on for anyone and the fact that they lost early wickets didn't help. On Shimron Hetmyer and Shane Dowrich, he says they played well but were unfortunate not to go on and score big. On Shannon Gabriel missing out on the next game, he says he'll be a big miss but the team will do its best.
  • Bangladesh were really put under the pump in the 3rd innings with Bishoo leading the charge with his 4-wicket haul, but they did just enough to set a target in excess of 200. Eventually, that proved to be enough as the away side fell short by 64 runs. The presentation will be coming up shortly...
  • Despite the fact that the Tigers were ahead throughout, it was a pretty interesting match-up on the whole. Haque starred in the first innings with a fine ton and his side posted 324 on the board on the back of it. Gabriel and Warrican's respective 4-fers, especially the former's (who took it in the space of 15 balls), were important otherwise the hosts would have scored a lot more. Then in response, the visitors scored 246 after an early slump courtesy fifties from Hetmyer and Dowrich. Debutant Naeem Hasan took his maiden 5-fer in this time.
  • A good win for Bangladesh. Bangladesh opted to pick four spinners for this Test and that decision has been completely justified as all 20 Windies wickets fell to spinners. Today was just not their day. After being reduced to 11/4, the writing was more or less on the wall. Hetmyer gave slight hope of changing things first, and then the Ambris-Warrican stand of 63 dragged the game along as much as it could, but the ask was just too much. • 10.2 OUT! GONE! That's a huuuuggge wicket! This is the wicket Bangladesh wanted. Good captaincy from Shakib too, knew where to spread his fielders out. Credit to Mushfiqur Rahim too, before the ball was bowled, he asked long off to go a little wider. Superb. Mehidy tosses it up around off, Hetmyer looks to go big downtown. Hits it well, but it's straight down the throat of Naeem Hasan who makes no mistake in taking it. Half the Windies side is back in the hut now.

  • ... Day 3, Session 2 ...
  • So, that all went by really quickly, didn't it? 9 wickets in total fell in this session. First, Bangladesh were bowled out for 125 and the target set was of 204. Then, within the last 30 minutes of the morning session, Shakib and Taijul ran riot as both picked up a couple of wickets each and really put Windies on the back foot. It turned, bounced and on a couple of occasions, it didn't too. The pitch is doing all sorts of things and it's only going to get harder for the tourists. They still need 193 runs to win. The afternoon session could be the last one of this game. Join us on the other side of the break for all the action.
  • 5.5 OUT! It's not missing anything, hits the stumps cleanly. Taijul with another quicker delivery. It lands on off and keeps coming in with the angle. Keeps really low once again and just like Brathwaite, there's nothing Chase can do about it. He's caught low on the pads and the finger goes up after the appeal. Chase takes the DRS thinking it will miss leg, but Ball Tracker shows all three reds. LUNCH ON DAY 3!
  • Review. Roston Chase is given out leg before and he challenges the decision immediately. Is it missing leg?
  • 5.4 Heavy spin away after landing on middle, Chase backs away to play initially but then lets it be.
  • 5.3 Touch short in length, around off, blocked with the full face.
  • 5.2 Fuller and spinning away from around off, met with the full face.
  • Roston Chase in next.
  • 5.1 OUT! Another one gone! The crowd goes wild. Taijul lands it short and flat on middle and leg, it keeps going on with the arm and stays quite low. Brathwaite is undone because of the lack of bounce and is caught low on the pads. Nothing he could do about that, quite unfortunate, as the finger goes up. The umpire checks upstairs for the front foot no ball and all is fine.

  • Sunil Ambris walks into the middle next.

  • Shai Hope walks in at no.3.
  • 2.4 OUT! Powell departs for a golden duck! What is he even thinking here? Giving the charge on the first ball he faces. Such poor judgement from the left-handed opener. Seeing him give the charge, Shakib darts it short and flat well outside off. Powell swings, misses and Rahim has all the time in the world to knock the bails over. 200 wickets for the Bangladesh skipper in Test cricket. Also, Kieran Powell becomes the first Windies player to get out stumped on the first ball in Tests, overall 11th.
