  • The Windies bowling was way below par and they bowled 11 wides in the innings. If the Windies are to win this one and seal the series then they will have to bat very well. Join us for the Windies chase in a while.
  • Liton Das was in great touch and scored his 2nd T20I fifty. Das and Sarkar had a solid 58 run stand but both of them departed in quick succession. Mushfiqur Rahim didn't last long either. It looked like the Bangladesh innings would crumble down but their skipper, Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah had other ideas and made an unbeaten 91 run stand in just 42 deliveries.
  • What a batting performance by Bangladesh. Liton Das started the innings all guns blazing and took the attack to the Windies bowlers. Tamim played second fiddle in the opening partnership. He got out in the 5th over when the score was 42 after looking rusty all along. Soumya Sarkar replaced him and continued the run flow.
  • 19.6 FOUR! What a way to finish the innings. Full toss on off stump and Mahmudullah just lofts it on the off side and to the left of deep cover for a boundary. The fielder has no chance there. Brilliant end to the innings for the hosts. Mahmudullah is looking for a no ball but the umpire is not interested and the innings comes to an end. BANGLADESH END ON 211/4 AFTER 20 OVERS.
  • 19.5 Full and outside off, driven by Shakib through the covers for a single.
  • 19.4 A play and a miss! Full toss outside off and Shakib tries to cheekily guide this away fine on the off side but misses the ball completely.
  • 19.3 A half-volley but Mahmudullah can't connect properly this time and the ball drops just short of the long on fielder. He went to slog this over cow corner but doesn't hit it too well.
  • 19.2 Full and outside off, driven hard but straight to cover who is deep at the edge of the circle. Hence the batsmen can run through for a single.
  • 19.1 Full toss on middle, Shakib gets it away in the gap through mid-wicket while slogging. The batsmen come back for two by the time the ball is returned.
  • Keemo Paul to bowl the last over of the innings.
  • 18.6 Outside off, Mahmudullah swings and misses. 202/4
  • 18.5 Shakib has played it to the point region. The batsmen have run through for a single.
  • 18.4 Flicked off the pads by Mahmudullah to rotate the strike.
  • 18.4 Wide. Once again down the leg side. Brathwaite struggling with this left hand and right hand combination. And the Windies are giving away a lot of free runs for the hosts.
  • 18.3 Shorter on this occasion and the southpaw pulls it away for a single.
  • 18.2 Fuller pitching outside leg, Mahmudullah tries to flick but gets an inside edge and on the pads for a run.
  • 18.2 Down the leg side and the umpire signals it as wide.
  • 18.1 Full toss outside off, Shakib chips it between mid off and extra cover for a single.
  • 17.6 FOUR! Doesn't matter how they come as long as they come. The ball is on a length and Mahmudullah who goes for a pull, gets a top edge on it and the ball goes over the keeper's head for a boundary. 16 runs off this over and 55 off the last three. 195/4
  • 17.5 Short and wide outside off, Shakib cuts it away hard for another single to deep point.
  • 17.4 Full ball at the pads, flicked away wristily for a single.
  • 17.3 FOUR! It is raining boundaries here and no Windies bowler can seem to stop the bleeding of runs. This one is full and wide outside off, the batsman just puts his bat out and guides it wide of the short third man fielder. The ball runs away for a boundary.
  • 17.2 FOUR! This short ball is put away easily by the batsman. Mahmudullah gets into position very quickly and lifts it over short fine leg for yet another boundary. Great batting by Bangladesh.
  • 17.1 Full length delivery to start off, Mahmudullah lofts it very high in the air over the bowler's head but luckily for him the ball lands in between long off and long on. The batsmen come back for two.
  • Oshane Thomas is back for his last over.
  • 16.6 Good stop. Goes for another yorker. Serves it full on off, Mahmudullah makes room and drives it through covers. Rovman Powell in the deep runs to his right and stops it with his feet. Saves a run for his team. However, Bangladesh have managed to get 20 runs from this over. 179/4
  • 16.5 Excellent yorker. Shakib does well to get bat to ball to the off side. They cross.
  • 16.4 FOUR! Off the middle and Shakib is dealing in boundaries. Fuller ball around off, Shakib gets to the ball and lofts this over mid-wicket. Nobody there and the skipper continues to pile on runs.
  • 16.3 FOUR! Lovely from Shakib. Full and on off, Shakib shuffles and flicks this over short fine leg. Another boundary results.
  • 16.3 Wide! More sundries. Down the leg side, wide given by the umpire.
  • 16.2 Full and on off, driven to mid off.
  • 16.1 FOUR! Edge but a boundary. Back of a length ball outside off, Shakib gets an edge as the ball bounces a bit extra. It goes over the keeper's head to the third man boundary.
  • 16.1 Wayward start. Errs this way down leg. Shakib leaves it alone. The keeper too cannot collect it. The ball rolls towards fine leg where they collect two more.
  • Keemo Paul is into the attack.
  • 15.6 Very full and almost yorker length, Mahmudullah digs it out towards deep mid-wicket for a couple of runs. Very good running! End of a very good over for the hosts. 19 runs off it in the end. We see Evin Lewis getting some treatment on the hamstring area. Meanwhile, we also see a replay that shows us that the ball adjudged wide outside off stump in the over had a thin feather off the willow actually. But maybe the noise out there is too much and neither the umpire nor the fielders could hear the edge. 159/4
  • 15.5 Full and on middle, pushed down the ground to mid on for a single.
  • 15.5 Wide! Wide outside off, Shakib goes chasing but misses the ball. The umpire signals wide to this but the bowler is not pleased.
  • 15.4 FOUR! Rank poor delivery from the bowler. On the pads, Shakib picks it up and puts it over the head of the short fine leg fielder for a boundary.
  • 15.3 Full and outside off, Shakib drives it hard but this time it goes straight to the cover fielder.
  • 15.2 SIX! Even worse now for the WI skipper. Half-volley on middle and Shakib lofts this one over mid-wicket and also over the fence. 11 runs off 2 balls in this over so far.
  • 15.2 Wide! A bouncer, almost halfway down the track and the ball bounces over the head of the batsman. Immediately signaled wide by the umpire. The frustration is showing on Brathwaite's face.
  • 15.1 FOUR LEG BYES! Oh my god! The ball has gone through the legs of Oshane Thomas and gone into the fence. The skipper isn't pleased. Full and on the pads, Shakib misses his flick, gets hit on the pads and the ball runs fine on the leg side. Shai Hope dives to his right but cannot get a hand to it. It should have been an easy stop for fine leg but Thomas doesn't come down in time and lets the ball run through.
  • Carlos Brathwaite to bowl his 3rd over.
  • 14.6 Lofted in the air over cover but the ball falls well short of the fielder in the deep. It is an easy single. Shakib keeps the strike. 140/4
  • 14.6 Wide ball down the leg side.
  • 14.5 Yet another single towards sweeper cover. The ball was full and outside off with some good pace on it, and driven away to the deep.
  • 14.4 Well outside off, Shakib hits it away to deep cover for the fourth consecutive single.
  • 14.3 Another ball on middle, Mahmudullah rocks back and punches it through the gap to the sweeper cover for one.
  • 14.2 Oooh! Good bounce there, almost climbed too much for Shakib to cut but he adjusts and pushes this short ball away on the off side for another run.
  • 14.1 Flatter ball outside off, pushed away to deep cover for a single.
  • Fabian Allen returns for another over.
  • 13.6 Single to end the over! Mahmudullah keeps strike. 13 runs from the over and a good one for the hosts. 133/4
  • 13.5 Surprise! Two dot balls in a row. The ball is outside off and Mahmudullah fails to find the gap on the off side as he pushes this away to point.
  • 13.4 Normalcy returns. The length ball on middle and off is played back towards the bowler with a straight bat from within the crease.
  • 13.3 FOUR! And the strike rate is still the same! Cottrell comes over the wicket this time but the ball is served outside off, Mahmudullah cuts and finds the gap to the left of point and picks up another boundary. 12 off 3 now.
  • 13.2 FOUR! Two in two! Fuller this time, and the batsman comes down the wicket and lofts it over cover on a bounce to the fence for another boundary. The strike rate remains.
  • 13.1 FOUR! What a way to get off the mark! Short and outside off, Mahmudullah stands tall and cuts it away wide off the sweeper in the deep for another boundary. 400 strike rate.
  • Mahmudullah is in at number 6.
  • 12.6 OUT! What a catch! Another very good catch. Fuller ball on middle, Rahim makes room to slog this away. Gets it off the bottom of the bat. The ball skies towards deep square leg where Allen settles himself under it and makes no mistake. Not easy those under the lights. Not much contribution this time from the pocket-size dynamite, Rahim. 120/4
  • 12.5 Nice change of pace. Slower ball outside off, Rahim looks to guide it but cannot get bat to ball.
  • 12.4 Slightly fuller on middle and leg, flicked towards mid-wicket for one.
  • 12.3 Length ball on off, rushes onto Rahim. His bottom hand comes off the bat as the ball drops near him on the left side. They cross.
  • 12.2 Around 141kph. Similar line and length, this time driven through mid off to give Rahim the strike.
  • 12.1 FOUR! First boundary for Shakib. Full and outside off, Shakib hits it through the line and over the top of mid off for a boundary.
  • Mushfiqur Rahim is the new man in.
  • 11.6 OUT! The off stump and middle stump are uprooted! Around the wicket, and the ball comes in with the angle after landing on off stump. Liton was looking to dab it down to third man but the ball had too much pace on it as it knocks off two stumps before the batsman could get his willow on the ball. The salutation comes out once more. Windies have two in an over and Bangladesh have to be careful not to lose way here. 113/3
  • 11.5 Full and worked off his legs for a couple towards deep mid-wicket. Lovely shot though.
  • 11.4 Fuller ball on middle, taken on the full and flicked straight to the square leg fielder. Shakib was backing up a bit too far and the fielder has a shy at the non-striker's end. The batsman was back in though.
  • 11.3 Length ball on the pads, flicked away with the angle for a single.
  • 11.2 Slower ball outside off, pushed down back to the bowler.
  • Shakib Al Hasan is the next batsman in at number 4.
  • 11.1 OUT! Stunner! An absolute stunner here from the skipper! Slower ball short and outside off, Sarkar times this beautifully but in the air towards cover. The ball seemed to being going for four all along. But Braithwaite times his jump to perfection, gets his hand to the ball and parries it, and completes the catch on its way down, even as he falls down. What a piece of fielding, have to stand up and applaud.
  • Sheldon Cottrell back for his second spell.
  • 10.6 Sarkar works it down the leg side. They pick up a single. 110/1
  • 10.5 SIX! Sweet! That came off the middle of the bat. Short ball on middle and leg, Sarkar comes down and hoicks this over square leg for a monster hit.
  • 10.4 Rocks back and punches this ball to the off side to give his partner the strike.
  • 10.3 Pitches this ball up outside off, guided to short third man for one.
  • 10.2 Short again outside off, Liton rocks back and pulls it towards cow corner for another run.
  • 10.1 Short ball down the leg side. Sarkar checks his pull as it goes behind short fine leg. They cross.
  • 9.6 Single to end the over. Flatter ball on middle, Sarkar works it away calmly to deep square leg for a single and keeps strike. 16 runs off the over. 99/1
  • 9.5 FOUR! Short and pulled away beautifully. Sarkar rocks back to this short ball on middle and deposits behind square on the leg side for another boundary.
  • 9.5 Wide! Well down the leg side and it is deemed as a wide by the umpire.
  • 9.4 FOUR! What a shot! Marvellous timing. Full toss outside off, Sarkar takes it on the full and drives it through the covers and all the way for a boundary. The fielders didn't even move there.
  • 9.3 DROPPED! Another opportunity for Windies goes begging. Full and outside off, Das drives this in the air towards cover and Darren Bravo puts his right hand out and tries to take this one but cannot hold on. The ball rolls towards long off for a single.
  • 9.2 FOUR! Full, too full outside off. Liton who is in sparkling form this evening, just opens the face of the bat and runs it very fine to the right of the keeper for a boundary.
  • 9.1 Full ball on leg stump, Sarkar tries to go for a loft over long on but mistimes it towards deep mid-wicket for a single.
  • 8.6 Bouncer! Das ducks in time to let that one go over him. 83/1
  • 8.6 Wide down the leg side, No trouble at all for Liton. The umpire has signalled a wide.
  • 8.5 FOUR! Shot! Didn't look to hit it hard. Just got to the pitch of it and lofted it over mid off. No protection there and the ball bounces just before the ropes. Fifty for Das. His 2nd in this format. How many more can he make?
  • 8.4 Full again outside off, creamed through cover-point to rotate strike.
  • 8.3 Down the leg side, Das flicks it off his pads towards fine leg for one.
  • 8.2 Full again on middle and leg, Sarkar on-drives it towards mid on to change strike.
  • 8.1 Full and outside off, Sarkar drives it crisply but straight to the extra cover fielder.
  • Carlos Brathwaite in for another spell.
  • 7.6 Short ball on the hips, worked away wristily to the deep square leg fielder for a single. 75/1
  • 7.5 FOUR! Short and punished! It is on middle and Sarkar pulls this away to the left of deep mid-wicket for a boundary. The ball raced away to the fence and there is no chance for the fielder in the deep.
  • 7.4 Misfield! The ball is on length outside off, Das pushes it straight to point but Hetmyer at point, completely misses the ball and misfields. A single is taken.
  • 7.3 Full and quick at the pads, Soumya doesn't get the ball on his bat properly and it goes onto his pads. The ball rolls onto the off side for a single.

  • 6.5 Slower again and Sarkar who is down the ground misses his flick to get hit on the thigh pad.
  • 6.4 Goes back short and Das pulls this away in the air to deep mid-wicket for a single. The connection wasn't true enough but that was better for the batsman as the ball doesn't carry to the fielder in the deep.
  • 6.3 Slower through the air and on middle, Liton pushes this back watchfully to the bowler.
  • 6.2 Short ball on middle again, Liton has enough time to rock back and pull this away wide of mid on for a couple.
  • 6.1 Flatter ball on middle and leg, worked towards deep square leg for a single.
  • The umpire signals the end of the Powerplay.
  • 5.6 Nicely done. Very good execution from Oshane. Goes short again outside off, Das tries to cut this but misses it. Nothing from the umpire. Good over the hosts, 14 from it. 61/1
  • 5.6 No ball! Too high this time. Tries to bang this one hard again but it is well over the batsman's head. Free Hit coming up!!!
  • 5.5 Thomas goes short outside off, Das tries to upper cut it but cannot get bat to ball.
  • 5.4 SIX! Make that another one. Superb stuff from Liton. Fuller ball again on off, Das gets in position early and paddles this over fine leg over the ropes.
  • 5.3 SIX! HUGE! What a fine shot from Liton Das. Overpitched ball in line of the stumps, Das makes room and lofts this over the bowler's head for a biggie.

  • 4.5 Shorter ball on middle and it is punched back down the ground.
  • 4.4 FOUR! Flatter on middle, Das was into position early and sweeps it beautifully over the head of the square leg fielder for a boundary. The deep mid-wicket player almost reached it in time but the ball just had enough to trickle over the fence.
  • 4.3 Where was Soumya going! Flatter ball outside off, Liton Das works it on the leg side but straight to square leg. The non-striker wants a single and tries for a quick single and is almost halfway down the pitch when Das sends him back. The throw though is wayward and Sarkar gets back in safely.
  • 4.2 Fuller on middle, Sarkar pushes this down the ground and gets off the mark with a single.
  • Soumya Sarkar is the number 3 batsman.
  • 4.1 OUT! Right down mid-wicket's throat! Tamim's struggle comes to an end. He was looking a bit shaky from the start. Short and asking for trouble. Tamim rocks back to pull it but pulls it right into the arms of Cottrell at mid-wicket. Fabian Allen cannot believe his luck. First blood drawn.
  • 4.1 Wide! Wide ball to start off, well down the leg side. Good stop by Hope with his right pad.
  • Fabian Allen is now into the attack.

  • 3.5 SIX! Easy pickings! This one sits up nicely. It was on the pads, Das just whips it away from his sight and it goes over the fine leg region for a maximum.
  • 3.4 Back of a length ball on middle and leg. Das gets a little extra bounce on this. Looks to hook it away but misses it to get hit on his body. No damage done.

  • 2.3 Full and on middle and leg, driven hard down the ground but Carlos Braithwaite puts a full-length dive to his left to stop what would have been a certain boundary.
  • 2.2 FOUR! Short and on middle, Das makes room and slashes it hard over point. The ball is well wide of the third man fielder as it runs into the fence. That's a great shot.
  • 2.1 DROPPED! A poor shot and even poorer fielding. The ball was on length and quick outside off, Tamim plays a loose shot and the ball goes straight to Fabian Allen at cover-point. It goes in and out of his hands and the batsmen run through for a single by the time it is collected off the grass. Got to feel bad for Sheldon Cottrell, should have had a wicket there.
  • 1.6 Short ball to end the over. Liton ducks under the ball and lets it go through. 15/0
  • 1.5 Almost had him! Another edge that doesn't go to hand. The ball lands on middle and then moves away late from Tamim. He was looking to play it on the leg side but the ball takes the edge and flies just wide of gully. Single taken.
  • 1.4 Outside off on a length ball, defended off the back foot towards the off side.
  • 1.3 On the hips again, Tamim connects his nudge better this time and puts it in the gap through mid-wicket for another couple.
  • 1.2 Leading edge! The ball was on middle and Tamim closes the face of the bat too quick as he tries to work it away on the leg side. The ball gets the leading edge but goes in the gap between cover and point for a couple.

  • Oshane Thomas to bowl from the other end.

  • 0.1 Good length outside off, Tamim plays it watchfully towards point.
  • The two opening batsmen, Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das are walking out to the middle along with the fielders and the two umpires. We are all set to go. Sheldon Cottrell will be bowling the first ball to Tamim.
  • Shakib Al Hasan the Bangladesh skipper feels that the pitch will suit them more than the visitors and the fact that they have played here more will help them. Says the boys are up for the challenge. Regarding their failure to play bounce well the previous game, he says that the players have enough experience and will look to do better this time around. Signs off by saying that a day or two will not change much and hence they are going with an unchanged line up and looking to put the loss behind them.
  • Carlos Brathwaite the Windies skipper reckons that the pitch is on the slower side. Says he chose to bowl cause they got success in the previous game defending the target. Mentions that the intent of the first match will be the same and hopes that they cross the line this time as well.
  • PITCH REPORT - Tino Mawoyo says that the length of boundaries are quite even here on all sides. Looking at the surface that will be used today, he says the surface looks good and there a few cracks along with the pitch being dry. Also adds that the tiny bit of grass will hold the pitch together and the ball will come on to the bat. Feels that the batsmen will enjoy themselves here. Adds that the team winning the toss might like to bat first, with the conditions being lovely for batting.
  • TOSS - Windies have won the toss and decide that they will chase.
  • Welcome to the 2nd T20I between Bangladesh and Windies at Dhaka. The visitors absolutely outplayed their opposition in the first game of the series. It was all too easy for them in the format that they favor the most. They first bowled out the hosts cheaply and then, didn't even break a sweat while chasing the total down within 11 overs. Thus, this match is expected to be closer as losing once more will mean that the Bangladeshis lose the series as well. Windies on the other hand, will look to be ruthless as ever. The slower nature of the wicket at the Sher-e-Bangla stadium should hold the home team in good stead and help them more than the Sylhet wicket. We should be in for a cracker of a game! Stay tuned with us, Toss should be here soon.

Bangladesh Vs West Indies Live Score (T20) Ball by Ball Commentary

  • So that's it from this one. With this Bangla win, it means it's going to go down to the decider. It takes place in Dhaka on Saturday, at 1700 local (1100 GMT). Do join in for that. Cheers!
  • Shakib Al Hasan is awarded the MAN OF THE MATCH. He had a terrific outing with the bat wherein he scored 42 off 26 and also, his 5-wicket haul took the Windies batting order apart. That ensured his side won the game.
  • Post the good batting show, they wreaked havoc with the ball. Shai Hope blazed right from the start and was looking like scoring another big one, but he departed soon. Post that, it was a mere procession, with Rovman Powell the only one to put up any kind of resistance with his fifty. Shakib derailed the Windies batting order with his maiden T20I 5-fer, and the rest, barring Saifuddin, chipped in with the wickets too. A dominating performance, one which the home side would be thoroughly proud of.
  • An emphatic victory for the hosts as they level the series 1-1. They were always ahead in this game from the time they were put in to bat. Liton Das took the attack to the Windies bowlers right from the word go. Put on two brisk stands with Tamim and Sarkar to set the tone for the game and scored a fifty too. A couple of wickets were lost in quick succession, but then the experienced heads of Shakib and Mahmudullah took the game completely away from the visitors, as the duo added 91 runs between them in no time. It helped the Tigers post a total well in excess of 200 on the board.
  • 19.2 OUT! That's the final wicket down of the Windies. Tossed up on middle, Thomas goes for a typical tailender's shot. He tries to hit it across the line and heave it over the fence but misses the ball completely and it hits the off stump. BANGLADESH WIN THIS MATCH BY 36 RUNS and level the series.
  • 19.1 Chipped over the bowler's head by Cottrell for a single.

  • 18.5 Top edge but lands safely. A single is taken. Both teams going through the motions here.
  • 18.4 This ball is punched away on the off side towards cover. The fielder picks up the ball and hits the stumps at the non-striker's end. But the batsman makes it home in time.

  • 16.6 A single to end the over. Paul just drops this length ball on leg towards mid-wicket for a run. Keeps the strike too. The Windies need 48 runs in 18 balls. 164/8
  • 16.5 Four in a row! Again quick on middle, Keemo drops it on the leg side towards mid-wicket and gets back for two. This time, it is very comfortable. Wonderful batting this! Might just be a little too late.
  • 16.4 Good ball on middle and leg, Paul pushes it with soft hands to long on. The batsmen come back for yet another two. Amazing running between the wickets, third couple in a row.

  • Mohammad Saifuddin is back into the attack.
  • 15.6 Fuller on off, Paul drives it through covers for a single. 151/8
  • Sheldon Cottrell is in at number 10.
  • 15.5 OUT! Powell is a goner and this time he has ran out of luck. Once again Rahman bowls fuller and takes pace off the delivery this time. Powell tries to lift it over long on but all he could do was find the top edge. The ball went high in the sky and Tamim Iqbal takes a good catch, coming in from the boundary.
  • 15.4 Once again full, Powell tries to go arieal but finds the top edge. The ball doesn't travel much and Mustafizur dives to take the catch near where a mid-wicket would have been had he been inside the circle. He cannot get his hands to it. And with that lucky escape Powell brings up his maiden T20I half century and Windies total goes past 150.
  • 15.3 Full on middle, Powell tries to go over the long on region but doesn't connect well. Maybe that was a blessing in disguised as the ball falls short of the fielder at long on. The batsmen take a couple.

  • 14.2 Flatter delivery on middle, defended off the front foot by the batsman presenting the full face of the bat.
  • Keemo Paul is next in to bat.
  • 14.1 OUT! Bowled 'em! Fifer for the Bangla skipper! The ball is pretty much a straight one. Allen goes for a huge slog over deep mid-wicket and misses the ball completely. It goes and hits the leg stump. Shakib is not even celebrating. He just walks up to his teammate like it is too easy for him. The seventh one is down and the Windies look all but out here.
  • 13.6 FOUR! Once again its a bit shorter on length by Abu. Powell tries to pull this one too but once again it finds the top edge and flies behind Rahim's head for a another boundary. 20 runs came of that over. 138/6
  • 13.5 FOUR!! Pulls back his length, Rovman tries to heave it over square leg but finds the top edge and the ball goes straight behind the keeper's head for a boundary.
  • 13.4 SIX! Massive! Full on middle by Haider. Powell lofts it straight behind the bowlers head for a 102m maximum.
  • 13.3 FOUR! Length delivery outside off and Rovman Powell hits it straight back at the bowler for a boundary.

  • 12.5 Blocks this off the inner half on the leg side.
  • Fabian Allen is the new man in.
  • 12.5 OUT! That's a soft dismissal. Brathwaite is frustrated with himself. Shakib bowls it around leg, Brathwaite gets low to sweep and in the process, his back leg is stuck out of the crease. Seeing this, Rahim casually takes the bails off and appeals. It's taken upstairs and replays show that the batsman is gone. Bangladesh inching closer to victory. A wide is signalled since it was down leg.
  • A stumping appeal against Carlos Brathwaite is taken upstairs. Rahim looks confident. Let's see now...
  • 12.4 Played to mid-wicket region by the batsman. One run added to the total.
  • 12.3 Straighter one on leg, coming in with the angle, Powell backs away and throws his bat at it, only to edge it. It goes past the leg stump off the inside edge and two runs are taken.
  • 12.2 Sliding in on leg, goes off the pads of the batsman on the leg side after taking an inside edge. A single is taken.
  • 12.1 Sliding in on middle and leg, worked through mid-wicket. One run to the total.

  • 10.6 OUT! Third of the evening for the Bangla skipper. He tosses it up on off and it drifts away, Bravo looks to slog it over the leg side but gets a top edge instead. It lobs towards short third man where Mustafizur takes a good catch moving behind to his right. 101/5
  • 10.5 Plays this back down the track for no run.
  • 10.4 Short and flat outside off, it's forced through the gap on the off side for a brace.
  • 10.3 Half volley on the stumps, Powell backs away and hits it down to long off for one.
  • Darren Bravo is next in.
  • 10.2 OUT! The dangerous Hetmyer is sent back to the dugout. He wasn't looking his usual self today though. The Bangladesh skipper pulled the length back and Hetmyer tries to heave it over the square leg region for a maximum. But he gets it high on his bat and the ball goes towards the mid on region. Saifuddin initially misjudges the ball but manages to dive and grab the ball. A good catch in the end by the pace bowler. The chances of Windies winning this one has dwindled a bit after this wicket.
  • 10.1 Flatter delivery on off, Powell charges down the ground and flicks it away on the leg side for a single.
  • Shakib Al Hasan back on.

  • 9.3 Swing and a miss, but since Rahim can't hold on, it's a run. The umpire signals a run, so that means Powell actually edged it. Rahim has put down a simple catch. Fuller ball around off, Powell swings and gets a feather behind, which Mushfiqur makes a mess of.
  • 9.2 Better from Saifuddin. Dishes in a yorker on leg, Hetmyer digs it out through mid-wicket and takes a single.
  • 9.1 SIX! Brute force from Shimron Hetmyer. Length ball in line of the stumps, the young southpaw goes deep inside crease, shifts his weight on the back foot and muscles the heave over mid-wicket for a biggie.
  • Mohammad Saifuddin returns.
  • 8.6 Shorter on length this time by Rahman. Hetmyer tries to pull it over the square leg region but all he could manage was a top edge. Luckily for Hetmyer the ball falls in a no mans land at mid on. They take a single. 83/3
  • 8.5 Play and a miss. Short outside off, Hetmyer frees his arms and tries to go over point but misses.

  • 7.5 Fuller ball on middle and leg, Hetmyer comes down the wicket and pushes it to deep mid-wicket for a single.
  • 7.4 Drifting down the pads, the ball is flicked away on the leg side through square leg. The ball is in the gap and the batsmen can come back for the second. Good placement from the youngster on that occasion.
  • 7.3 Flatter outside off, pushed away towards cover-point.
  • 7.2 NOT OUT! The umpire has to change his decision once again! There is a clear inside edge. The ball is a flatter one on middle and sliding in, Hetmyer plays inside the line and misses his attempted punch on the off side. The ball takes the inside edge and actually runs to the boundary. But the umpire had given his decision as out. Hetmyer reviews and the edge is noticed and the decision is overturned. The ball is deemed as a dead ball.
  • Review time. It's for an lbw decision against Shimron Hetmyer.
  • 7.1 Flatter outside off, Hetmyer cuts hard but straight to the fielder at point.
  • 6.6 Slower one by Saifuddin this time. Pitched on length outside off, Hetmyer gets on his back foot and punches the ball away on the off side for a single. 73/3

  • Mohammad Saifuddin is back on to bowl.
  • 5.6 Dropped! Short ball and Powell pulls it hard. Luckily for him, it bursts straight through the hands of the man at short mid-wicket. Difficult chance, came to Shakib super fast. Two runs taken. 70/3
  • 5.5 Defended off the front foot by the batsman presenting the full face of the bat.
  • 5.4 FOUR! Full on the pads, Powell gets forward and across before paddling it fine down the leg side. Two fielders give the chase, but can't stop it.
  • 5.3 Quicker one outside off, Powell comes forward to play and gets an edge down to third man. A couple of runs are collected.
  • Rovman Powell walks into the middle next.
  • 5.2 OUT!! The dangerman Shai Hope is sent back to the dugout and Mehidy has got the big breakthrough. Flighted delivery slightly short by Mehidy, tempts Shai Hope to have a go at it. He is tempted and goes for the big slog sweep over mid-wicket but cannot time the ball and all he manages to do is find Liton Das in the deep. How will Windies go for it now? Shai Hope was the man in form and was looking good. This wicket weighs in gold for the hosts.
  • 5.1 Tossed up on off, Hope droves it straight to the fielder at cover.
  • Mehidy Hasan called on to bowl.

Shakib takes some pace off this and keeps tossing it up there, Pooran gets low to unleash the big slog sweep but this time he skies it towards backward square leg. Tamim runs in from short fine leg and takes a well-judged catch. A quickfire partnership of 41 comes to an end.
  • 4.2 SIX! That's outta here! It's tossed up on middle stump, Pooran gets low to this one, uses the pace as it's a little quicker and sweeps it over mid-wicket for a biggie.

  • Shakib Al Hasan is into the attack now.
  • 3.6 Fullish delivery on the pads, flicked to deep square leg for a run. 24 runs off the over, the most expensive one of the match. 52/1
  • 3.6 FIVE WIDES! This is turning out to be an expensive over. Short ball down the leg side, Hope ducks and lets it be. Even Rahim can't reach it as it runs away to the fence behind. The 50 is up for Windies.
  • 3.5 A couple this time. Seems like a dot ball at this stage. Hope moves inside the line and helps it down to fine leg and comes back on strike.
  • 3.4 FOUR! Four balls, four boundaries. Shai Hope, you beauty. Keep 'em coming. Mustafizur pitches it full and angles it in on off, Hope chips it neatly over mid off.
  • 3.3 FOUR! Make that three in a row. No stopping this man, is there? Fuller length ball on off, Hope stays leg side and lifts it over the cover infield easily. Zero fielders out in the deep, so the ball goes across the boundary line.
  • 3.2 FOUR! Two in two for Shai Hope. This is exceptional batting. Short ball into the body, the batsman moves inside the line and pulls it over backward square leg. Easily finds the boundary line.
  • 3.1 FOUR! Hit straight and hit clean. Wonderful connection from Shai Hope. Full in length on off stump, Hope plants his front foot forward and bashes it over mid on. No chance of stopping that.
  • Mustafizur Rahman into the attack now.
  • 2.6 FOUR! A bad ball and it's put away. Short and slow, Pooran picks it up early and unfurls a powerful pull shot through mid-wicket to find the fence. 28/1
  • 2.5 Another swing and another miss. Fuller and just outside off, Pooran backs away and looks to smack it hard, but fails to connect.
  • 2.4 Full and just outside off, Pooran backs away, looking to go big over the covers. Is unable to make any kind of connection though.
  • 2.3 FOUR! Deft from Pooran. Length delivery with some width on offer outside off, Nicholas just opens the face, plays it late as he runs it past short third man. A boundary results.
  • 2.3 Short ball down the leg side, wide called by the umpire.
  • 2.2 Just ahead of a length, close to off, tapped down in front of covers for a single.
  • Nicholas Pooran walks in at no.3.
  • 2.1 OUT! Lewis holes out! The only man on the leg side boundary and the southpaw finds him to perfection. Full and angling in on middle and leg, Lewis lofts it over mid-wicket. A lot of height, not enough distance and it's straight down the throat of Liton Das in the deep. He settles under the ball and takes a safe catch. That's the first wicket down for the Windies.
  • 1.6 Yorker fired in on the stumps, it's drilled out through the covers. Two taken. 16 off the over. 18/0
  • 1.5 FOUR! Hope's brought the hammer down and banged this. Wow. Marginally ahead of a length, close to off, Shai Hope just stands tall and smacks it back down the ground. No fielder moved, it was hit that well.
  • 1.4 FOUR LEG BYES! Back of a length and coming in on leg, Hope looks to work it across but gets it off the thigh pad. It rolls down and across the fine leg fence. Another boundary.
  • 1.3 FOUR! Takes the aerial route and gets the desired result. Good length ball outside off, Hope stands his ground and lofts it over wide mid off for a boundary. Just needed to clear the infield. Did so with ease.
  • 1.2 Closer to off, on a length, Hope places it behind point and comes back for the second.
  • 1.1 Short of a length delivery well outside off, moving away, Hope looks to play at it but misses.
  • Mohammad Saifuddin to bowl from the other end.
  • 0.6 NOT OUT! The umpire has to change his decision. It looked like an inside edge from the beginning and Lewis went upstairs straightaway. It was a length delivery that kept a bit low and Evin Lewis who attempted the typical Carribean flick, doesn't make good connection. The ball made contact with the bottom of the bat and doesn't even hit his pad. A very poor decision by the umpire, who raised his finger almost immediately. Thankfully there is DRS available, else Lewis would have been really frustrated. This is even stated by the fact that Lewis is startled when the finger goes up. He almost walks away in disgust before his partner Shai Hope reminds him that he can take a review. On the review, it is proved that the decision was an absolute howler from the umpire. 2/0
  • LBW Review! Lewis thinks he has got a bottom edge to this decision given against him. He looks confident.
  • 0.5 Well outside off and swinging away after landing on a full length, Lewis goes for a huge swipe over mid off but misses the ball.
  • 0.4 Full and outside off, Hope plays it away from his body, in the air and towards mid off. The batsmen run through for a single.
  • 0.3 This one comes in after landing on a length, the Windies are off the mark with a single towards deep mid-wicket.
  • 0.2 Well outside off and swinging away, Lewis goes for the cut but misses the ball by quite some distance.
  • 0.1 Good length ball outside off to start, defended back down the ground by Lewis.
  • We are back for the chase. Windies need to go all guns blazing from the word go. Shai Hope and Evin Lewis will start the innings. For the hosts, Abu Hider will open the bowling.
