  • The star with the ball was definitely Mehidy Hasan, scalping 4-29 off his 10 overs. He started off with the new ball and kept a probing line that the Windies batsmen found hard to get away. The rest of the bowlers were in form too, none of them giving away runs at more than 5 per over. Mashrafe Mortaza will definitely be happy with the performance and will hope that the batsmen can come out and get to this below-par total without any difficulties. The chase should be an easy one considering the form of the home team, especially Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim. The left-handed opener from Chittagong has looked in good form but just hasn't got a big innings, but tonight seems to be a good opportunity to do so. All in all, unless something miraculous occurs over the period of the second innings, we should be seeing the Bangladeshis get their hand on the trophy. Join us for the chase in some time.
  • Bangladesh would have definitely taken this at the start of the day. 198 on a good looking pitch to bat shouldn't be enough if the hosts bat sensibly during the chase. Good tight bowling from the hosts combined with poor rash batting by the visitors has caused this. The fact that no batsman got to 20 other than Hope tells us the story. Right from the beginning, the visitors have been kept on a tight leash and never looked like getting to a big total. Shai Hope was a silver lining in this dark cloud of the Windies innings, getting to another century, his second on the trot. 108 not out from 131 balls was the need of the hour. It has at least given his bowlers something to defend.
  • 49.6 Yorker to end the innings, the left-hander digs it out towards mid-wicket and gets a single on the last ball. Just four runs off the final over. WINDIES FINISH ON 198/9!
  • 49.5 Played and missed, the ball is outside off and full in length. Bishoo goes for the slog and misses the ball completely. Goes through to the keeper and another dot ball.
  • 49.4 Slower bouncer, Bishoo was way too early into his pull and sees that the ball never arrived so backed out of his shot. Dot ball in the last over is like gold.
  • A slight halt in play as Hope seems to be slightly dehydrated. The pyhsios have come out to have a look.
  • 49.3 Short and outside off, Hope plays it towards deep point for a single.
  • 49.2 In the air, but the ball just lands short of the fielder at long on who comes charging in. Full toss on off, Bishoo tries to smash it over mid-wicket but doesn't get a good connection. The batsmen get a single.
  • 49.1 Slower bouncer to start off with, Hope is early into his shot and the ball goes off the outside half of the bat, onto his helmet and the batsmen scamper for a single towards square leg.
  • Saifuddin to bowl the last over of the innings.
  • 48.6 Cutter outside off, played to point. End of the over. 194/9

  • 45.6 OUT! Length delivery on leg, Roach looks to nudge but misses it and gets hit on the pads. Mortaza appeals and the umpire gives it straightaway. Kemar Roach goes for the review. • 43.5 OUT! Mortaza gets his first on his 200th ODI for Bangladesh. It's the cutter, keeps it fuller and on the stumps, Paul stands his ground and looks to slog it over the leg side. Misses it completely and swings early, thereby having his stumps rattled. Timely breakthrough for the Tigers.

  • Roston Chase to bat next.
  • 25.6 OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Rovman Powell departs. The umpire clearly didn't agree with Brathwaite and stayed true with his decision. Another Windies wicket down and it's the skipper this time. The visitors are imploding yet again. From 57/2, they are 99/5. Mehidy bowls a straighter one outside off, Powell comes forward to play at it and gets an edge behind. Rahim takes a sharp catch to dismiss Rovman. An excellent spell from the offie, he's turned this game in his side's favour for now. He finishes with figures of 10-1-29-4. 99/5
  • What's going on here? Rovman Powell is given out caught behind but Carlos Brathwaite is out there, possibly telling the umpires that there were 5 fielders outside the ring on the leg side. Probably. This is getting interesting...

  • Skipper Rovman Powell is out next to bat.
  • 23.5 OUT! Hetmyer departs! Big wicket for Bangladesh. Tossed up on middle, Shimron looks to defend but gets hit on the pads. Mehidy appeals and the umpire gives it straightaway this time. Hetmyer walks up to his partner, talks for a bit but doesn't take the review. Probably knows he's gone. Replays show that it was umpire's call. It was a good decision from the southpaw to not review this.

  • 16.3 APPEAL FOR LBW! NOT OUT! Length delivery on middle, Hope comes forward and looks to flick but gets hit on the pads. The bowler appeals but the umpire shakes his head. Bangladesh go for the review. Replays show it was missing the stumps. Bad review by Bangladesh. Umpire gives it as leg byes. The batsmen take a run.
  • Another review from Bangladesh. It's for an lbw decision against Shai Hope. Seems to be going down leg.

  • 15.5 Samuels gets to the other end by playing this full one outside off to long on.
  • 15.4 Umpire's call! The Ball Tracker shows us that the ball would've clipped the top of leg stump and thus, Samuels survives. Bangladesh do not lose their review either. A good ball that lands on off, and turns a mile to beat the inside edge of Samuels who was looking to defend. Hits him on the back pad but the umpire says not out. Bangladesh decide to go upstairs after considering the fact that the ball hit the back pad, to no avail though.
  • Review time! This ball has spun and beaten the inside edge of Samuels' bat and gone on to hit his back pad. Looks a good review by Bangladesh, seems to be hitting the stumps to the naked eye.
  • 15.3 Samuels defends it well by covering the line of the delivery.
  • 15.2 Huge appeal but the umpire is unmoved! Mushfiqur and Mehidy look very enterprising in their appeal. But after a discussion with Mashrafe, they decide not to review. On leg and going down, Samuels looks to flick but misses and the ball brushes the pad.

Ends by saying that the dew could be a factor because of the vegetation around.
  • Hello and welcome for the series decider. The series is levelled 1-1 and anything can happen in this final game. The Tigers took the first game, courtesy a good all-round performance, but then the Windies came roaring back in the second via an excellent Shai Hope ton. Consistency is the main issue for these two sides. Whichever can manage to find some of it, that team will end up winning. Bangladesh have been guilty of losing wickets in clusters and their opening woes still haunt them. The visitors will want to focus on their bowling unit, as it seems to run out of steam after a good start. Maybe a change or two to be expected? We'll see. So far, the team chasing has won in this series, so the toss becomes crucial. It's a rather early-ish start, so the dew won't come into play. Let's see what happens.

Bangladesh Vs West Indies Live Score (ODI) Ball by Ball Commentary

  • That's all from here then folks, 2-0 in the Tests and 2-1 in the ODIs. The Bangladeshis have been dominant in every game except for a flat performance in the 2nd ODI, that too can be credited to the brilliance of Shai Hope. West Indies now only have the T20Is to take something away from this tour. It begins here at Sylhet with the first T20I scheduled on the 17th of December, Monday at 1400 local (1100 GMT). Join us for the live coverage of that game, till then goodbye and take care.
  • Bangladesh skipper, Mashrafe Mortaza, says it was a good match and Shai Hope played another fine knock, but his team delivered on the whole which is why the Tigers won. Credits the spinners and his pacers for doing well throughout the series. Applauds the effort from his players and reckons it's been a collective effort, which helped them win. Ends by saying that Windies are a good T20I side, so they will be wary of their threat.
  • Man of the Series, Shai Hope, says he's pleased to have done well but feels disappointed as well as his side couldn't get over the line. Reckons that it's unfortunate they couldn't clinch the series, but hopes they can win the T20I series.
  • Man of the Match, Mehidy Hasan, says he's really happy to have been able to contribute to the team's win. Credits Shimron Hetmyer's wicket to Mushfiqur Rahim as he was the one who suggested that Mehidy come back into the attack for him. Feels happy with his performance and wants to keep improving himself.
  • Windies skipper, Rovman Powell, (On Oshane Thomas' absence) says they thought it would be better to have an extra spinner in the team given the conditions. Credits Shai Hope for the way he played but is disappointed nobody else could support him well enough. Adds that there are a lot of things to rectify, so will work hard on that. Mentions that this venue is beautiful and the facilities in general in Bangladesh are amazing.
  • Bangladesh were not pushed and they strolled over the line as Mushfiqur came in the end to complete formalities. West Indies were not helped by the fact that their main bowler in Kemar Roach limped off in the 5th over of the chase. All in all, another series lost by Windies and they will be disappointed as they made a comeback in the 2nd match and in the 3rd, they were completely blown away. Shai Hope was the one shining light as he made 297 runs in the 3 games, remaining Not out with centuries in the last two. He too did not take the field in the 2nd innings with a knock to his head. Hopefully he will be fine for the T20Is.
