Right then! That is all we have from this game! The Test series stands at 1-0 with Pakistan in the lead. We have one more Test and that will begin on 4th December at 10 am Local (4 am GMT). See you there. Cheers!

Babar Azam, the skipper of Pakistan, says that he is very happy with the show of his team. Adds that Shaheen Afridi and Hasan Ali had a brilliant game. Says that they would look to improve on bowling consistently when the opposition batters get a partnership going. Praises Abdullah Shafique for the way he built his innings and played on his debut. Also praises Abid Ali for the way he batted and delivered for his team in both the innings

Abid Ali is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH! He says that 330 runs was the target in the first innings and so they wanted to stay at the wicket and build partnerships. He adds that the domestic performances and experience helped him. He applauds Abdullah Shafique and says he played outstanding cricket and they both were helping each other and he adds that he is happy for him. He says that he is happy to win the match and it would have been great to get a century though.

Mominul Haque, the skipper of Bangladesh, says that they lost the game in the first hour of the first and second innings with the bat. Adds that the pitch remained a good one to bat on throughout and if they had 100 more runs, things could have been different. Says that they need to work on their batting going forward.

Stay tuned for the presentation.

Bangladesh started their second innings in the worst possible manner as their top order once again folded but Liton Das was once again responsible for their recovery as he scored a fifty. Shaheen Afridi took a 5-wicket haul for Pakistan to bowl out the hosts for 157. Bangladesh had a pretty big lead of 201 runs and bowling second on this pitch gave them a pretty good chance of defending it against Pakistan but once again, a brilliant opening stand between Abid Ali and Abdullah Shafique gave Bangladesh no chance of defending this total.

Pakistan though started brilliantly with the bat in their first innings. Abid Ali and Abdullah Shafique, with the former scoring a ton, provided them with a brilliant start and they were at 146 for 0 in reply to Bangladesh's 330. But Pakistan had a big collapse of their own as after the openers fell, the middle order folded very early and they were bowled out for 286. Taijul Islam was the wrecker-in-chief as his 7 wickets gave Bangladesh a handy 44-run lead on a pitch that was not very easy to bat on.

Earlier in the game, the bowlers of Pakistan demolished the top order of Bangladesh on Day 1 but the hosts recovered thanks to a brilliant ton by Liton Das and a knock of 91 runs by Mushfiqur Rahim. Had these two senior pros not stepped up, then Bangladesh would have had a low total in the first innings. The star with the ball was Hasan Ali as he took a 5-wicket haul.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, had a very disappointing innings with the ball. They would have wanted to get early wickets to put the middle order of Pakistan under pressure but that did not happen. Mehidy Hasan and Taijul Islam were the only bowlers to take wickets in this innings but it came quite late for them.

What a chase by Pakistan! Chasing more than 200 runs in the last two days was not going to be easy but they have made a mockery of the chase. Abdullah Shafique and Abid Ali were brilliant yet again and their opening stand made sure that they would win this game. Abdullah Shafique missed out on getting a well-deserved ton and so did Abid Ali. But they had done their job and Pakistan won it with ease. What a show by Pakistan in the last innings of the game.

What a game and what a victory for Pakistan! This was a brilliant Test match and both the sides fought hard but in the end, it is Pakistan, who get the win here. A clinical show by them and they have deserved this victory.

58.3

FOUR! Azhar Ali finishes it with a boundary! Mehidy Hasan bowls this down the leg side. Azhar Ali gets on his knees and sweeps it fine towards the long leg fence for a boundary. Azhar Ali and Babar Azam shake hands and the Pakistan dressing room is delighted. It has been a hard-fought win for them. Bangladesh and Pakistan share handshakes and both teams should be proud of the cricket they have played during the course of this game. A good advertisement for Test cricket but in the end, it is Pakistan, who have won this game by 8 wickets!

With the match firmly in the hand of Pakistan, Bangladesh need early wickets and quite a few of them. They would like to take some inspiration from the first innings of this Test when they bundled out Pakistan in two sessions after a century stand by their openers. But with just 93 runs more needed and all 10 wickets in hand, any result other than Pakistan win here will be a huge surprise. A very crucial first session of this final day coming up. Stay tuned for more updates.

Hello and a warm welcome to the coverage of Day 5 of the first Test between Bangladesh and Pakistan. Day 4 turned out to be a decisive day as Pakistan have finally taken the driver’s seat in this Test match after a spirited bowling effort and yet another century stand by their openers. The star of the show with the ball was Shaheen Afridi as he picked his fourth five-wicket haul and bundled out Bangladesh for just 157 to restrict their lead to 201. For Bangladesh, things were looking quite good after the first session but all went downhill after that as the wicket of Nurul Hasan triggered a collapse and they were restricted to much less than what they were looking for. The bowlers barring Taijul Islam failed to create enough chances and by the end of the day, Pakistan needed just 93 runs for the victory. Bangladesh need something special from here on otherwise things can end quite quickly here. Can Bangladesh fight back? We shall find out.

... DAY 5, SESSION 1 ...

Right then! That's the coverage for Day 4! Pakistan just need 93 runs now and with 10 wickets and a whole day still left in the game, they are well on course to go 1-0 up. The action on Day 5 will begin at 10 am local (4 am GMT). Do join us for that. Cheers!

Earlier, in the day, Pakistan bowlers were impressive as they bundled out Bangladesh for 157 runs. Shaheen Afridi was the star with the ball as he took his fourth five-wicket haul and delivered under pressure for Pakistan. Bangladesh, on the other hand, were looking good as Liton Das made a classy fifty under pressure. But once he departed, things finished rather quickly for them. Their bowlers after that have failed to get a breakthrough and things look bleak for them now.

Bangladesh bowlers toiled hard but failed to get a breakthrough. Taijul Islam was again the pick of the bowlers as he created whatever half-chances Bangladesh managed to create. The other spinner Mehidy Hasan failed to match his consistency and that allowed Pakistan batters to get some quick runs. The seamers too were ineffective and leaked runs and that allowed Pakistan batters to score freely without any pressure. It looks difficult for Bangladesh from here on and the match is headed only in one direction unless Bangladesh produce something special from here on.

What a session for Pakistan! Their openers have put them in a driver's seat yet again and this time more decisively. Both of them played some smart cricket combining caution with aggression as they both completed their respective fifties. Abdullah Shafique is only the second player to be involved in a two century partnerships on a debut in a Test match and that shows the impact these two have made on this game. They have 93 more runs to score in this game and Pakistan will be hoping that the openers finish it off as early as possible tomorrow.

The umpire brings out the lightmeter now. The reading has been done and Mominul Haque has brought Ebadot Hossain into the attack. The players are walking off the field now as they think the light is not good enough to continue and with that, IT WILL BE STUMPS ON DAY 4!

We are back for the final session of the day. The Bangladesh players make their way out to the middle. Pakistan openers Abdullah Shafique and Abid Ali are there in the middle too. Taijul Islam to start for Bangladesh.

...DAY 4, SESSION 3...

Bangladesh started with the star of the first innings, Taijul Islam and the pace of Ebadot Hossain at the other end. Both bowlers bowled well but were unable to get the breakthrough they required. The pitch has enough help to keep them interested and Taijul Islam towards the back end of the session got some balls to turn sharply and they will hope that the next session turns the game their way. Pakistan need another 164 runs and the next session can well turn out to be the deciding session of this Test match. Do join us at 3 pm local (9 am GMT) for the final session of the day.

Excellent session for Pakistan! After wrapping things quite quickly post-lunch, Pakistan openers have done well to negotiate this tough little phase before the Tea. Abid Ali the senior of the two, got some handy boundaries and his debutant partner, Abdullah Shafique once again showed maturity and the skills required at this level. So the first objective to play out this session is cleared now and they will be looking to carry on in the next session as they chase 202 to win the first Test.

5.3

Fuller in length, on off. Abid Ali drives it back to the bowler. Some aggression there by Ebadot Hossain as he collects the ball and throws it at the striker's end. That throws was absolutely needless as Abid Ali was inside the crease. Maybe just trying to get under batsman's skin.
