  • Now then! The target is a one which can be achieved but the Afghans are a top bowling side so it will take some good batting. Will Masakadza win his last game or will Rashid's birthday turn out to be a special one? Join us in a while to find out.
  • The Zimbabwe bowling was poor to begin with! They had no answers to the carnage by the openers but did extremely well to pull things back after the Powerplay. Mpofu was the pick as he finished with the 4-fer. Tinotenda Mutombodzi was also very good during the middle overs and he along with the other spinners were the ones who applied the breaks.
  • The Afghan innings started superbly as their openers got off to a flyer, smashing a 83-run stand for the first wicket. But since then, it has been a downward slide for the Afghanistan side. They failed to stitch partnerships and got out to some poor shots too. The middle order failed miserably due to which, they fell way short of where they could have got at one stage.
  • Zimbabwe have done extremely well to pull back things and the game is evenly poised at the half way mark. Afghanistan though would be quite disappointed with their performance. They were all set at one stage to get close to the 180-run mark but they have fallen well short of what they once looked like they would achieve.
  • 19.6 Slower full delivery outside off, Rashid makes room for himself to cut but misses. Rashid is surprised that why it is not given a wide by the umpire. Maybe his movement towards the off side prompted the umpire to not give it a wide. With that, AFGHANISTAN END UP WITH A SCORE OF 155 FOR 8.
  • Dawlat Zadran is in at number 10.
  • 19.5 OUT! CAUGHT! Excellent catching from Ainsley! He runs behind from point and takes an excellent catch going back. Good length delivery on off, Asghar looks to slog it away but gets an outside edge towards point where Ndlovu runs back and takes a magnificent catch. Excellent bowling from Mpofu. He has picked up four wickets in the innings and has stalled the run rate of the Afghans.
  • 19.4 Full delivery on middle, Rashid comes down the track and plays it towards the off side for a single.
  • 19.3 OUT! CAUGHT! Niazai is out of here trying to go for the big shots. Mpofu bowls a full delivery on middle, Niazai looks to slog it away but gets a top edge towards the long on region where Ryan Burl runs in and takes an excellent running catch. Three wickets for Mpofu.
  • 19.2 Short ball on off, Rashid pulls it towards the leg side for a single.
  • 19.1 SIX! What a shot from the birthday boy! Rashid comes down the track to this short delivery and slaps it away towards the deep mid-wicket region for a maximum. Rashid did not look like he got to the pitch of the ball but still managed to put it away. 150 up for Afghanistan.
  • Mpofu to bowl the final over of the innings.
  • 18.6 A short delivery which has been pulled away. They pick up a single. 147/6
  • 18.5 BOUNCER! It was bowled way above the head of Rashid who looked to pull but is unable to put any bat on it. The umpire gives it one for the over.
  • 18.4 Full delivery on off, Niazai pushes it towards point for nothing. The debutant does not make use of the Free Hit here.
  • 18.4 NO BALL! FOUR! Third No Ball bowled from Jarvis in this innings. Jarvis bowls a full delivery outside off, Fazal bends on his knees and lofts this over the point fielder for a boundary. Poor ball after the wicket here from Jarvis. A Free Hit will follow.
  • HERE WE HAVE THE BIRTHDAY BOY! Rashid Khan comes out to bat. Can he hit a few huge ones to end the Afghan innings on a high.
  • 18.3 OUT! Gulbadin Naib is the latest casualty to go back to the pavilion! Afghanistan losing wickets in a heap here at Chattogram! Short delivery outside off, Naib looks to pull it but does not time it well. The ball goes off the upper half of his bat and goes towards Ndlovu at deep mid-wicket and he makes no mistake. Afghanistan losing their way here.
  • 18.2 Slower short delivery outside off, Gulbadin looks to pull but is early into the shot and misses the ball completely.

  • 17.5 Naib flicks this tossed up delivery on the pads to mid-wicket for a single.
  • 17.4 SIX! BANG! Williams bowls one in the slot and Naib just lofts it cleanly over the bowler's head towards long on. The fielder there looked interested for a majority part only to watch it sail over him for a maximum. Useful runs this from Afghanistan's point of view.
  • 17.3 Flatter one on off, Niazai pushes it to covers for a single.
  • 17.2 Another one around off, pushed down the ground only for the bowler to field it in his followthrough.

  • 15.4 The batsman has punched that ball through the offside.
  • Fazal Niazai is the new man in.
  • 15.3 OUT! CAUGHT! Zadran fails to make any impact in the game! Mutombodzi bowls a flighted delivery around off, Zadran looks to slog it away but gets an outside edge towards short third man where Madziva takes a simple catch. Afghanistan are losing track with regular wickets.
  • 15.2 Full toss on middle, Naib flicks it towards deep mid-wicket to get off the mark with a single.
  • 15.1 Full delivery on middle, Zadran defends it towards the off side for a single.
  • Tinotenda Mutombodzi is back into the attack.

  • Gulbadin Naib is the new man in!
  • 14.5 OUT! No Nabi heroics today as he holes out. Zimbabwe are right back into the game. Another slower bouncer, Nabi again goes for the pull but can't get the desired distance as he can't middle the pull. The ball goes high in the air towards fine leg where Jarvis moves to his left and settles under it to pouch it.

  • 13.6 OUT! TIMBER! Body blow here for the Afghans. Gurbaz was going great guns here. But his stay is cut short by Williams. Sean bowls a tossed up delivery on the stumps and seeing this, Gurbaz's eyes lit up. He dances down the track but fails to get to the pitch of the delivery and the ball misses his swing only to disturb the furniture behind. Three quick wickets and Zimbabwe are crawling their way back in the game. 116/3
  • 13.5 Zadran rocks on the back foot on this flatter one and punches it to covers for a single.
  • 13.4 FREE HIT! Nothing much on the Free Hit here. Williams bowls one on the stumps and Gurbaz eases this out to covers for a single.
  • 13.4 NO ball! Oh on earth what has Williams done here. He bowls one flatter on middle and Gurbaz goes for a drive only to hit it uppishly to the man at covers. Hang on! Williams has overstepped and that means there will be a Free Hit on the next ball.
  • 13.3 FOUR! Innovation there from Gurbaz. Williams bowls one outside off, and Gurbaz is quick to bring out the reverse sweep and places it in between square leg and short third man fielder for a boundary.
  • 13.2 Fuller one on the pads, Zadran flicks it to short fine leg for a single.

  • 11.6 Played to the point region by the batsman. 100/1

  • 10.6 Flatter one on off, defended back to the bowler. 88/1
  • 10.5 IN THE AIR... AND ANOTHER DROP! Shafiqullah gets a life. He goes for the slog sweep on the flighted ball but fails to get under the ball. In the end he gets a top edge that goes towards deep mid-wicket where the fielder runs forward to take the catch. But his timing is not right. He dives only to miss it and concede a single in the end. How costly this would be? Zimbabwe need to hold on to these chances if they are to make an impact here.
  • 10.4 Tossed up on middle, Shafiqullah works it to mid-wicket and gets a couple.

  • 8.4 In the channel outside off this time, this is slower ball. Gurbaz goes for the drive but can't get bat on ball as he is done with the pace.
  • 8.3 In the air.. and dropped! How costly will it be? Chakabva, on his birthday, has made a mess of one of the simplest of chances at deep mid-wicket and on top of that he also concedes a boundary. This is around off, slightly shorter, Gurbaz goes to pull again but the ball hits high on his bat and balloons high in the air. The ball goes straight to Chakabva who can't hold on. Zimbabwe are in a position where they can't put down chances like these if they want to crawl back in the game.

  • 7.1 FOUR! Welcome to the attack Mr Burl says Gurbaz. Burl lands it slightly short around off, Gurbaz goes back and hammers it in the gap between mid-wicket and long on. The ball goes into the fence.
  • Ryan Burl to bowl now. Can he break the opening stand?

The ball goes just past the off pole. The ball just bounces in front of the diving Brendan Taylor behind the wicket who fails to collect it and the ball runs down to the fine leg fence for a boundary.

It is their superstar, Rashid Khan's 21st birthday and a win here will be a good present for him. Is there a surprise in store? Stay tuned to find out.

That effort in the second half kept Zimbabwe in check and the Rhodesian side bagged their first win of the tournament. Stay tuned for the presentation.
  • The Afghanistan bowling looked off color today. Maybe they were a touch complacent. None of their bowlers looked at their best. When only one of their spinners takes a wicket, you probably know they haven't been at their best. Overall, not something Rashid Khan will be happy with.
  • Chasing a total which we thought would be tricky on a wicket which is slightly slow, the Zimbabwe team have done it quite easily. Right from the word go they looked in control of the chase. First, it was the openers who got them off to a brisk start. Then, Chakabva and Masakadza continued the good work with another excellent stand. The skipper got to his fifty, he would have wanted to stay there till the end but could not do so. Chakabva also perished but till then, the game was completely in Zimbabwe's favor. Williams and Mutombodzi ensured there were no more wickets to fall and they took the team over the line.
  • What a way to end your career! It is under his captaincy, Zimbabwe beat Afghanistan for the first time in T20Is.
