In response, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma (41 off 36) got the hosts off to a flying start before falling to Taskin Ahmed. Shubman Gill (101*) took charge, constructing a patient innings alongside Virat Kohli (22) and Shreyas Iyer (15). Even as wickets fell at regular intervals, Gill remained unfazed, reaching his century in 125 balls. KL Rahul (41*) provided the finishing touches, ensuring India reached the target with a six.
Rishad Hossain (2/38) was the standout bowler for Bangladesh, but their total proved insufficient against a clinical Indian batting display. Meanwhile, Shubman Gill was named the Player of the Match for his brilliant knock.
