Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are facing each other in the fifth match of the Asia Cup 2025 in Abu Dhabi on Saturday, September 13. However, the famous “Naagin" rivalry between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh once again looked pretty one-sided as the latter suffered a huge batting collapse.

Batting first, Bangladesh had a nightmare start as they lost five wickets inside the first 10 overs and were left struggling badly. Things went wrong right from the beginning. Tanzid Hasan was bowled in the first over, and then Parvez Hossain Emon followed in the second, both without scoring a run.

Bangladesh were suddenly 0/2 after two overs. Their troubles only got worse when Towhid Hridoy was dismissed in dramatic fashion. In the 5th over, after he had already survived a dropped catch, Hridoy tried to run three runs but was caught short by a brilliant direct hit from Sri Lanka’s Kamil Mishara.

Captain Litton Das tried to fight back with a few boundaries, but wickets kept falling from the other end. Mahedi Hasan also could not settle, and Bangladesh could reach just 53/5 by the end of the 10th over. Jaker Ali and Shamim Hossain are currently trying to forge a partnership.
