India captain Suryakumar Yadav once again displayed sharp cricketing brains as he ran out Pakistan’s Mohammad Nawaz in a crucial moment of the Asia Cup 2025 Super 4 clash. The dismissal came in the 19th over off Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling, leaving Pakistan reeling at 149/5.
Pakistan skipper Salman Ali Agha tried to play a shot but the ball hit him on the pads and went towards backward square. Varun Chakravarthy was stationed there and he threw the ball at non-striker’s end in an attempt to run out Salman. An alert Suryakumar Yadav collected the ball and then threw it at the other end, where Nawaz was caught napping.

SKY spotted the opportunity and executed a perfect throw to catch Nawaz short of the crease. The run-out was a major blow for Pakistan, as they were hoping to build on the strong start. As Nawaz walked back to the dressing room, Pakistan head coach Mike Hesson didn’t even look at him.

Pakistan eventually managed to post a huge total as Indian fielders kept dropping catches and giving them lifelines. Pakistan finished their innings at 171/5 in 20 overs thanks to a fiery cameo from Faheem Ashraf, who scored 20 off 8 balls. Fakhar Zaman also played an explosive knock at the top of the order, scoring 15 off 9 balls.
