Ambati Rayudu has finally broken the silence on the constant trolling he has received for backing MS Dhoni in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 . Rayudu has been the subject of memes, jokes and criticism for his unwavering support of former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni in the commentary box — even as the 43-year-old struggles to make an impact on the field.
While Dhoni has scored 103 runs in five matches at a strike rate of 153.73, his contributions have not come in CSK’s wins. The franchise is currently on a four-game losing streak and at the ninth spot in the IPL 2025 points table .
Rayudu says he will always be a Dhoni fan
Despite Dhoni’s dwindling impact on the CSK games, Rayudu has stood firm with his former skipper, often praising him from the commentary box.
In the last match against Punjab Kings, Rayudu even compared Dhoni to a war hero, leading to heightened criticism for his “over-the-top” remarks.
Breaking the silence on the accusations of partiality labelled against him, Rayudu said on X that he is a die-hard fan and will continue to be one. He said the negative PR and constant criticism will not bring any change.
“I was a Thala’s fan. I am a Thala’s fan. I will always be a Thala’s fan. No matter what anyone thinks or does. It will not make a one percent difference. So please stop spending money on paid pr and donate that to charity. Lot of underprivileged people can benefit,” Rayudu wrote on X.
