The persons behind the breach in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday have been identified and arrested. Two persons on Wednesday afternoon jumped into the Lok Sabha chamber from the public gallery. They opened canisters that emitted a yellow-coloured smoke and triggered panic among the MPs. The House was quickly adjourned after the incident. Meanwhile, a man and a woman were detained outside Parliament with cans that emitted a similarly yellowish smoke. The two protestors chanted “Tanashahi Nahi Chalegi” (dictatorship will not be allowed), “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Jai Bheem, Jai Bharat.” A fifth person was also held. “Two intruders have been arrested from inside Parliament, two from outside. All their belongings have been seized…The entire matter is being investigated thoroughly,” Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said when the House re-convened at 2 pm.
