The shocking tale of Kerala woman allowing lovers to sexually assault her daughters

A woman in Kerala did the unthinkable against her daughters. She allowed two of her lovers to sexually abuse her children. A special fast track court on Monday sentenced her to a cumulative prison term of 40 years. The judge in his order found that the accused brings shame to motherhood and she deserves no apology. Here’s the horrific tale that has shocked the entire country. Woman let two partners rape minor daughters The events unfolded between March 2018 and September 2019. The woman left her husband, who was mentally ill, to stay with her two lovers. During the time her two daughters were aged 11 and seven. The first lover Shishupalan brutally abused the girl when she was seven years and was studying in Class I. “At that time, the victim told the entire incident to the accused but she did not do anything and she helped the other lover to abuse the victim,” Special Public Prosecutor RS Vijay Mohan told ANI. The mother, reportedly, brought the child to his residence several times, and he assaulted the youngster in her presence. The child suffered severe injuries in her private parts. Shishupalan also abused the older child, and threatened them, so they did not disclose the matter. A case was registered in that case too and the trial has started. [caption id=“attachment_13439362” align=“alignnone” width=“640”] While sentencing the woman, the court said the childhood of the survivor was destroyed due to her mother who was supposed to protect her. Image used for representational purpose/Pixabay[/caption] The incident came to light after the grandmother of the children lodged a complaint with the authorities, when the elder sister fled her mother’s house with the younger. During the counselling, the children recounted the whole situation, and are currently residing in a Children’s home. Jailed for 40 years Thiruvananthapuram Fast-Track Special Judge R Rekha has sentenced the woman to 40 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 20,000 in a Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) case on Monday. Special public Prosecutor R S Vijay Mohan said the mother will serve 40 years — the highest of the varying jail terms — as the sentences will run concurrently. He said the trial was held against the mother alone as the prime accused, Shishupalan, had died by suicide during trial. While sentencing the woman, the court said the childhood of the survivor was destroyed due to her mother who was supposed to protect her. The court has observed that the child, who should have led a happy life, became the victim of sexual abuse due to the act of the accused. The court examined 22 witnesses and 33 documents for convicting and sentencing the accused. With inputs from PTI and ANI
