Here’s what we know about the young woman’s killing.
1. The woman, identified as Kriti Kumari, was stabbed multiple times by the accused, Abhishek, in her PG facility in Bengaluru’s Koramangala on the night of July 23. The chilling CCTV footage of the gruesome incident shows a man in a blue T-shirt on the third floor of the accommodation with a plastic bag.
2. He knocked on the door of Kriti’s room and dragged her out as soon as she opened it. The CCTV clip shows the accused grabbing the victim’s hair and repeatedly stabbing her.
3. According to the police, the attacker sneaked into the woman’s PG and went to her floor around 11.10 pm. He stabbed her several times while she tried to resist the attack, slashed her neck and fled the spot.
4. The video shows the accused plunging the knife at the victim even after she collapsed to the floor. He then slit her throat before running away, leaving a bloodied Kriti to die.
5. As per The News Minute (TNM) report, the other residents of the PG heard the commotion but were too scared to come out. They locked their doors and came out once they realised the accused had gone, after which they dialled the police. The incident took place at Bhargavi Staying Homes For Ladies in Venkatreddy Layout, just over a kilometre from the Koramangala police station and South East Deputy Commissioner of Police’s office.
