A 17-year-old boy from Wisconsin is at the centre of a terrifying double murder and an alleged conspiracy to assassinate US President Donald Trump and overthrow his government, federal authorities said in newly unsealed court documents.

The teen, identified as Nikita Casap, is accused of killing his parents in a calculated move to “finance” a disturbing plan that involved assassinating Trump, “[bringing] in chaos”, and starting a revolution, the affidavit quoted from the court document said.

Casap has since been arrested and now faces nine serious felony charges in Wisconsin.

But who is Nikita Casap? And what exactly were the sinister plans he hoped to execute? Here’s a closer look.

The shocking double homicide

The horrifying chain of events began in February 2025, when police discovered the bodies of Nikita Casap’s mother, Tatiana Casap, 35, and stepfather, Donald Mayer, 51, at their home in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

According to The New York Times, Tatiana’s body was found buried under blankets near the kitchen, while Mayer was located in a first-floor office with a gunshot wound to the head.

Investigators believe both were shot and killed on February 11. Their severely decomposed bodies were only found nearly two weeks later, during a welfare check conducted on February 28.

Shortly after the discovery, Mayer’s vehicle was reported stolen. That same evening, officers in WaKeeney, Kansas, stopped the car during a traffic check—only to find Casap behind the wheel, as noted in the criminal complaint.

Inside the vehicle, authorities recovered $14,000 (Rs 12.05 lakh) in hundred-dollar bills, jewellery valued at more than $14,000, and a .357 Magnum revolver registered to Casap’s father.

Authorities now allege that the brutal killing of his parents was a calculated move. By eliminating them, Casap intended to steal their money and resources, giving him both the funds and freedom to pursue a disturbing plan targeting the US President.

Killing Trump would ‘bring in chaos’

As authorities dug deeper, they uncovered something even more disturbing.

According to the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office, authorities discovered disturbing material on Casap’s phone linked to “The Order of Nine Angles”—described in the federal affidavit as “a network of individuals holding neo-Nazi racially motivated extremist views.”

Alongside this, officers uncovered photos and messages that referred to “a self-described manifesto regarding assassinating the president, making bombs, and terrorist attacks,” the affidavit stated.

Among the materials seized was a three-page document in which the FBI says Casap explicitly called for the assassination of President Trump. The goal? To trigger political upheaval in the US and “save the white race.”

“As to why, specifically Trump, I think it’s pretty obvious. By getting rid of the president and perhaps the vice president, that is guaranteed to bring in some chaos,” the document read, according to the affidavit.

The same document reportedly included images of Adolf Hitler, alongside chilling text: “Hail Hitler Hail the white race hail victory.”

Authorities also found files and messages showing Casap had researched how to turn a drone into a weaponised attack tool. The FBI believes he had already paid, at least partially, for a drone and explosives to carry out an assault.

Photos of both the front and back of Mayer’s credit and debit cards were also discovered, as well as login credentials to a bank account, CNN reported, citing the affidavit.

Casap later revealed he planned to befriend someone who owned a gun so he could steal it, CNN reported, citing the affidavit. He also allegedly told the classmate that he was in communication with someone in Russia and that they were working together to overthrow the US government and assassinate Trump.

What’s next?

The 17-year-old high school student now faces a total of nine felony charges in Waukesha County. These include two counts of first-degree intentional homicide, two counts of concealing a corpse, along with charges of identity theft and theft exceeding $10,000 (approximately Rs 8.6 lakh).

Casap remains in custody, with his bail set at $1 million (Rs 8.6 crore).

He appeared in court for a preliminary hearing on April 9 in connection with the murder of his parents, though he did not enter a plea at the time.

His arraignment is scheduled to take place in May, where he is expected to respond formally to the charges against him.
