Meet Kenisha Paliwal, the Cornell-educated bride married into the Haldiram family

Over the weekend, Nagpur witnessed one of India’s grandest weddings. In fact, social media is still abuzz with these nuptials, which featured a performance by Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor, opulent fireworks and even an eight-tier upside down cake.

But who is the couple behind this grand celebration? The lavish celebrations are courtesy Vevek Agrawal, son of Haldiram MD Kamal Agrawal and grandson of Haldiram chairman Shivkishan Agrawal, and Kenisha Paliwal.

Here’s all you need to know about the latest addition to the Haldiram family. For those who are unaware, Haldiram’s is one of India’s most iconic food brands.

• Born in India, Kenisha was primarily raised in the United Kingdom.

• She is the daughter of Mudit Paliwal, the founder and CEO of Delta Corp Holdings. Before Delta Corp Holdings, Mudit Paliwal helped grow Norvic Shipping and Caravel group.

• According to Kenisha’s LinkedIn profile, she holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Labour Relations from Cornell University, along with a Master of Science in Technology Management from Columbia University.

• “I was raised in the UK, and spent most of my time there. But then I realised that I was getting too comfortable there. So I thought, why not go to the US? If I hate it, I can always come back. I did not hate it there and ended up spending six years there,” Kenisha has been quoted as saying in an earlier interview.

• Today, she serves as the executive director of Delta Corp Holdings, a London-based global logistics business engaged in bulk logistics, energy logistics, asset management, and energy transition.

• Kenish also led Helixtech Asset Management, a venture inspired by her tenure as an analyst at Goldman Sachs.

• She has also interned at DE Shaw Group, Hafnia Law Firm, Mayer Brown, and Howse Williams, among others.

• Kenisha’s wedding to the Haldiram scion was held at the luxury five-star hotel Le Meridien and the family’s private Shiv Estate in Nagpur.

• Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor performed at the sangeet, and the couple also cut an eight-tier wedding cake during pre-wedding celebrations.

• The wedding was attended by several high-profile guests, including BJP leader Hansraj Ahir.
