On Monday, Buckingham Palace announced that the 75-year-old king , who had ascended the throne just 18 months ago, would step back from public duties while he underwent treatment for cancer. However, it clarified that King Charles would continue his duties of being the monarch. “The King is grateful to his medical team for their swift intervention, which was made possible thanks to his recent hospital procedure,” Buckingham Palace said. “He remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible.” Now, it is expected that Prince William, the Duke of Wales, will do some heavy lifting in the British royal family.
