Donald Trump joins a list of US presidents who have been victims of assassination attempts. On Saturday, while attending a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, he suffered an ear graze when a 20-year-old opened fire, killing one other bystander and critically injuring two others.

Trump, who was injured in the right ear, is “safe”. He was escorted off the stage with blood on his ear and cheek after the shooting at the rally.

The Secret Service, in turn, killed the gunman, now identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks.

Since the founding of the US, four presidents and one presidential candidate have been assassinated.
