Zomato will become a part of the benchmark BSE Sensex, replacing JSW Steel on December 23.
This is part of the latest reconstitution announced by Asia Index Private Ltd, a subsidiary of BSE.
Zomato’s Inclusion in the 30-stock Index marks a significant milestone for the company, which has seen an impressive rally over the past year.
Nitish Kumar’s ‘Pragati Yatra’ from today
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will embark on ‘Pragati Yatra’ from December 23.
His first leg of the tour will commence from West Champaran and the next day he would be visiting East Champaran.
He was scheduled to embark on Mahila Samvad programme to interact with women but the programme was deferred and incorporated with the Pragati Yatra.
Notably, the CM has undertaken nearly 15 yatras around the state under different names since 2005.
BKU (Ekta Ugrahan)’s dharna
Bharti Kisan Union (Ekta Ugrahan) will hold a dharna outside the district headquarters on Monday in protest against the tear gas shelling and use of water cannons against farmers at the Shambhu border.
Earlier, BKU leader and senior SKM leader Rakesh Tikait called for unity of farmers for a “joint fight” to press the Centre to accept their demands.
Besides a legal guarantee on the minimum support price (MSP) for crops, the farmers are demanding a debt waiver, pension for farmers and farm labourers, no hike in the electricity tariff, withdrawal of police cases and “justice” for the victims of the 2021 Lakhimpur Kheri violence.
NGT hearing over deaths of elephants in Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve
The National Green Tribunal’s (NGT) Central Zone Bench will hear the case concerning the mysterious deaths of 10 elephants at Madhya Pradesh’s Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve.
Initial reports suggested the deaths may be linked to poisoning from contaminated Kodo millet, a local grain.
The probe came after the NGT took suo-motu cognizance of the case in November, highlighting the grave threat posed by the contaminated grain to elephants, livestock, and humans.
Pakistan court hearing on killings in PTI protest
A district court in Islamabad will hear a petition on Monday about the alleged killing of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf supporters during the party’s protest, demanding the release of its founder Imran Khan in the capital in the last month.
The district and session judge scheduled the hearing after PTI Chairman barrister Gohar Ali Khan filed the petition accusing PM Shehbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Informational Minister Attaullah Tarar, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, senior police officials and some unidentified individuals of being involved in the killing and disappearances of PTI workers.
Sebi auction of 17 properties of KBCL India
Capital markets regulator Sebi will auction 17 properties of KBCL India Ltd on Monday to recover money illegally collected from investors.
As many as 17 land parcels in Uttar Pradesh will be auctioned at a reserve price of Rs 4.23 crore, according to a notice issued last month.
