Ukrainian President Zelenskyy likely to visit White House
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is scheduled to visit the White House today to meet his US counterpart, Donald Trump. A rare earth minerals agreement , intended to fund US military assistance for Ukraine’s defence against Russia’s full-scale invasion, is expected to be signed by the two leaders.
“I hear that he’s coming on Friday,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. “Certainly it’s OK with me if he’d like to. And he would like to sign it together with me. And I understand that’s a big deal, a very big deal.”
The visit comes amid ongoing diplomatic efforts to resolve the nearly three-year conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
Bangladeshi student protestors to launch political party
The student group in Bangladesh, which spearheaded the revolt to oust former PM Sheikh Hasina, will launch their political party today in Dhaka. The party will be led by Nahid Islam, a key student leader of the group and part of the Yunus interim government .
Organizers have announced that the party, which seeks to “fulfil the aspiration of new Bangladesh,” will initiate its activities with a grand rally at Manik Mia Avenue, located south of the parliament building in Dhaka. In August 2024, a student-led movement ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina after weeks of protest and violence.

Based on the lunar Islamic calendar, Ramadan 2025 is expected to begin on the evening of February 28, pending crescent moon sighting after 6:00 PM.
It is marked by fasting for a month from dawn until sunset, known as Roza, and the end of Ramazan is marked by a celebration called Eid al-Fitr (the Festival of Breaking the Fast), which is one of Islam’s two major holidays.
