Firstly, US President Donald Trump is set to hold a phone call with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, to determine the framework deal to keep the TikTok app running in the US. Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 will be available in stores across India from today.

Moroccan foreign minister Nasser Bourita will begin an official trip to China today. India will clash with Oman for the 12th match of the Asia Cup 2025 in Abu Dhabi.

Trump-Xi to hold talks over TikTok

US President Donald Trump is set to hold a telephonic conversation with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, to discuss the framework to keep ByteDance Ltd’s TikTok app running in the US.

Confirming the news on Monday (September 15), Trump wrote on Truth Social, “I will be speaking to President Xi on Friday. The relationship remains a very strong one!!!”

Earlier, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said, “President Trump and party Chair Xi will speak on Friday to complete the deal, but we do have a framework for the deal with TikTok,” Bessent said. “I think the framework is for it to switch to US-controlled ownership.”

iPhone 17 to be available in Apple stores

Apple Inc.’s latest phone the iPhone 17, along with its variations, will be available in stores from today. The lineup includes several models, including the standard iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and a newly introduced ultra-thin iPhone Air.

One of the major design highlights is that all models start with 256 GB base storage, which is double what many past base models offered.

According to the Chinese news agency Xinhua, Bourita is going on an invitation from his Chinese counterpart. The visit comes as bilateral relations between Morocco and China continue to strengthen, mainly in the economic sector. The two countries have expanded their cooperation across multiple areas in recent years.

India vs Oman at Asia Cup 2025

India is set to clash with Oman at the 12th match of the Asia Cup 2025 at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi today. With India already in Super Fours, it prepares for the big match with Pakistan on September 21.

The weather in Abu Dhabi is expected to be hot and humid, with temperatures ranging from 37 degrees Celsius to 39 degrees Celsius when the game begins at 8 pm IST. Meanwhile, slight rain is expected during the match.
