Judgment on Donald Trump’s conviction in hush money case

A New York judge is set to decide whether President-elect Donald Trump's criminal conviction on charges involving hush money paid to a porn star should be overturned in light of the US Supreme Court’s July ruling on presidential immunity, reported news agency Reuters.

It is the first of two pivotal choices that the judge must make after Trump’s November 5 election victory. Justice Juan Merchan must also decide whether to go ahead with sentencing Trump on November 26 as currently scheduled while many predict that sentencing is now unlikely, reported Reuters.
