The outcome of the RBI Monetary Policy Meet
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Sanjay Malhotra will announce a decision on interest rates at which commercial banks borrow money from the central bank on Friday.
The decision comes after three days of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting, which began on February 5.
The RBI conducts six bi-monthly meetings each financial year to discuss interest rates, money supply, inflation outlook and other macroeconomic indicators.
Manipur Speaker’s tribunal hearing of anti-defection case
The Manipur speaker’s tribunal would hear the anti-defection case of five JD(U) MLAs who had joined the BJP shortly after winning the state assembly elections in 2022.
A petition seeking disqualification of the five from the assembly was filed by Manipur Congress Vice-President Hareshwar Goswami.
Pakistan Navy’s Aman military drills
Pakistan will host a biennial multinational naval exercise from February 7 to 11.
Dubbed Aman (Peace) 25, the military drill, which will see participation from 60 countries, will run in the northern Arabian Sea off the port city of Karachi.
DMK MPs’ protest at Parliament
DMK MPs, along with other opposition MPs, will be protesting on Friday at Parliament premises against the detainment of Tamil Nadu fisherman by Sri Lankan Navy.
