Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to co-chair the AI Action Summit in Paris this year along with French President Emmanuel Macron. The aim for this year’s event is “mapping” AI governance around the world, promoting the idea of more ethical, accessible and frugal AI and pushing for European sovereignty over the technology, reported news agency AFP.
Some of the big names attending the two-day event include US Vice President JD Vance, Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing along with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Microsoft President Brad Smith and Google CEO Sundar Pichai. The Summit will focus on five major themes, including public service AI, the future of work, innovation and culture, trust in AI, and global governance of AI, reported The Indian Express.
PM Modi to hold bilateral talks with President Macron
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to hold bilateral talks with France President Emmanuel Macron today on the sidelines of the Paris AI Action Summit.
The bilateral discussions between PM Modi and President Macron are expected to cover a range of topics, including strengthening strategic partnerships, enhancing economic cooperation and collaborating on AI and other emerging technologies, reported The Indian Express.

Turkish President Erdogan to visit Malaysia
Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will be visiting Malaysia and Indonesia as part of a three-nation Asia tour. Erdogan will visit Malaysia, Indonesia and Pakistan from February 10 to February 13.
This will be his first visit to the nation since 2019 which led to a renewed momentum in Turkish-Malaysian relations. The leaders are expected to discuss various topics, including the recovery and reconstruction of Gaza, reflecting their shared commitment to international humanitarian efforts.
Pakistan’s Gaddafi Stadium to be handed over to ICC
Gaddafi Stadium in Pakistan’s Lahore will be handed over to the International Cricket Council (ICC) today. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the decision to hand over the stadium on January 30.
A Board source told PTI that the stadium will be handed over to the ICC, “for branding and other stuff on February 11" after Pakistan’s tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa.
The ICC stipulated a deadline of January 31 for the handover of all three stadiums — Gaddafi Stadium (Lahore), National Stadium (Karachi), and the Rawalpindi Stadium — which are slated to host the global event in Pakistan.
India Energy Week to begin in New Delhi
The India Energy Week is set to kick off today at the Yashobhoomi in the national capital. The event is slated to take place from February 11 to February 14 with global participation from ministers, CEOs and industry leaders.
Energy ministers from over 20 countries, including those from advanced economies, the largest energy producers, and countries of the global south will be attending India Energy Week (IEW), reported news agency ANI. It further said that the exhibition space will expand by 65 per cent to 28,000 square meters, while the number of conference sessions will increase to 105 and global delegates will exceed 70,000.
