PM Modi to visit to attend ASEAN-India Summit
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a two-day visit to Laos on October 10 and 11 during which he will attend the 21st Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) -India Summit and the 19th East Asia Summit, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Tuesday.
Laos is the current chair of ASEAN. On the invitation of his Laos counterpart Sonexay Siphandone, Prime Minister Modi will visit Vientiane on October 10-11, news agency PTI reported quoting an MEA statement.
Modi is also expected to hold bilateral meetings on the margins of the two summits, according to the MEA. “India is marking a decade of the Act East Policy this year. Relations with ASEAN are a central pillar of the Act East Policy and our Indo-Pacific vision,” the MEA said.
Elon Musk’s Tesla to launch Robotaxi
Tesla is geared up for its launch of the new Robotaxi in the United States today. This is the first fully autonomous vehicle to be used for commercial purposes. According to speculations, the taxi is likely to be named as ‘Cybercab’ and a prototype of it is likely to be seen at the event.
According to a CNBC report, the event will take place at the expansive 110-acre studio, where Tesla has been actively gathering Full Self-Driving (FSD) data in preparation. The event will take place on Thursday (October 10) from 7 pm PT (7.30 am IST on October 11).
Boris Johnson’s memoir ‘Unleashed’ to be released
Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson will be releasing his memoir ‘Unleashed’ in London. The memoir goes through his time as a mayor of London, the Supreme Court judgement in the 2019 prorogation case, the pandemic and Brexit among other political moments from his life, stated in a Financial Times article.
Ahead of the official release, an exclusive launch was organised. Several Conservative Party leaders were seen in attendance including James Cleverly, Priti Patel, Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg and Michael Gove among others.
Nasa spacecraft to study Jupiter moon’s underground ocean to be launched
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (Nasa) is set to launch a spacecraft to study the underground ocean present in Jupiter’s moon, Europa.
Earlier, project manager Jordan Evans said the transistors — located in circuits across the entire spacecraft — are expected to degrade when Europa Clipper is exposed to the worst of the radiation during the 49 flybys of the moon. But they should recover during the three weeks between each encounter, said Evans of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
Madhya Pradesh government to launch ‘Sampada 2.0’ software
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will launch the Sampada 2.0 software of the Registration and Stamps Department at Kushabhau Thackeray International Convention Center.
Finance and Commercial Tax Minister Jagdish Devda said this is an important step for the state government in digitalizing the property registration process. New registry rules have been implemented in the state, an official statement from the MP government stated.
