North Korea’s leader, Kim Jong Un, will arrive in Beijing today ahead of his appearance at China’s Victory Day military parade on September 3. This visit is his first foray outside North Korea in six years.

In Tiananmen Square, Kim will stand alongside President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin during the parade celebrating the 80th anniversary of Japan’s surrender in World War II. Hearing in Trump’s attempted firing of Fed governor Lisa Cook

The US Supreme Court is set to hear the case pertaining to Cook v Trump in Washington, DC, today. The case challenges President Donald Trump’s attempt to remove Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook. Cook, a Biden appointee, filed suit after being fired on August 25, with the White House citing alleged mortgage fraud. She contends this does not legally qualify as “cause” under the Federal Reserve Act.

The initial court hearing took place on August 29, where a judge did not issue an immediate ruling on Cook’s request for a temporary restraining order. He instead set a deadline for today for Cook’s lawyers to respond to a brief filed by the Justice Department.
