ISRO to launch Spadex Mission
The Indian Space Research Organisation will launch a twin satellite Spadex mission – two small satellites, SDX01 or Chaser and SDX02 or Target – from the country’s only spaceport at Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.
Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle PSLV-C60 will launch the two 220 kilos satellites in a 470 kilometres circular orbit.
Sitharaman’s pre-Budget consultations
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will engage in pre-Budget consultations with captains of Indian industry and players in the social sector, especially education and health.
This will set the stage for her eighth consecutive Union Budget, scheduled to be presented in February 2025.
The meeting also comes amid concerns of an economic slowdown following robust growth over the past three years.
Farmers’ call for ‘Punjab bandh’
Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM) and Sanyukt Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) (SKM-NP) has called for the ‘Punjab bandh’ today from 7 am to 4 pm in the state.
The farmer union leaders will enforce a chakka jam on roads and rail lines and only emergency vehicles, such as ambulances, marriage vehicles, or anyone in a dire emergency, will be allowed to pass, Sarwan Singh Pandher, coordinator of both the forums had earlier said.
Milk supply will be suspended and vegetable markets will also be closed during the period.
President Murmu to inaugurate cancer hospital in Karnataka
President Droupadi Murmu will inaugurate Dr Sampat Kumar S Shivangi Cancer Hospital in the rural Belgagavi, Karnataka.
Indian-American doctor Dr Sampat Shivangi, who lived in India for three decades, has donated his family fortunes to build the cancer hospital.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin will extend the Pudhumai Penn scheme to benefit female students of government-aided schools today.
The inauguration will take place in Thoothukudi.
Mamata Banerjee to visit Sandeshkhali
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will visit Sandeshkhali today, her first since violent protests in the region amid sexual harassment allegations against TMC leaders.
She will attend a public distribution programme on the island, which is located in the North 24 Parganas district, which borders the Sundarbans.
SpiceJet to hold annual general meeting
SpiceJet will hold its annual general meeting for the 2023-24 financial year on Monday.
At the meeting, the airline will seek shareholders’ approval for increasing the authorised share capital to infuse fresh share capital.
Approvals will also be sought for the re-appointment of Ajay Singh as a director, appointment of Sonum Gayatri Malhotra as an independent director and for adopting audited financial statements for the 2023-24 fiscal year.
