Isro launches its 100th satellite
Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) has hit a century by launching its 100th satellite – NVS-02 – from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) in Sriharikota today.
The satellite is part of India’s Navigation with Indian Constellation (NavIC) abroad GSLV.
The lift off took place at 6.23 am.

Harvey Weinstein is likely to appear in court for the pre-trial hearing today in the sex crimes case.
Weinstein was already facing retrial on two sex crimes charges after the state’s highest court overturned his 2020 conviction earlier this year.
In September, he was hit with a new charge accusing him of another assault. He has pleaded not guilty.
CBI to collect voice samples of accused Sujay Bhadra
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will collect the voice samples of Suraj Krishna Bhadra, a prime accused in the multi-crore cash-for-school job case in West Bengal.
His voice samples were to be collected on January 21, but this was not possible since he failed to be present at a special court in Kolkata because of medical complications.
During its previous hearing, the special court also directed that Bhadra be present at the court today.
SC to hear suo moto Kolkata RG Kar case
The Supreme Court will hear suo-motu case over the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at state-run RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata.
The plea was set to be heard by the apex court for the first time after the sentencing in the rape and murder which took place on August 9 last year.
Waqf panel meet to adopt its report on amendments
The parliamentary committee scrutinising the Waqf bill is set to adopt its report on Wednesday with MPs of opposition parties such as the Congress, TMC, DMK and the AIMIM expected to give their dissent.
Opposition MPs on Monday proposed amendments in all 44 clauses of the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, seeking to mostly restore the provisions of the current Act.
Beating The Retreat’ ceremony at Vijay Chowk
The Beating Retreat ceremony will be held at Vijay Chowk today, marking the formal end of the Republic Day celebrations.
