Amit Shah’s Karnataka roadshow
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be in Karnataka today, holding a slew of events, including a roadshow. Shah will address the Sakti Kendra Pramukh Sammelan at Palace Ground in Bengaluru. The event is aimed at bolstering grassroots leadership and organisational strength ahead of Lok Sabha elections.
Later in the day, Shah will lead a road show from Chikkamalur to DT Ramu Circle, Channapatna in Karnataka’s Ramanagara, engaging with citizens and highlighting the government’s initiatives.
The minister’s visit underscores the significance of Karnataka in the political landscape ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
PM Modi to kick off Uttarakhand election campaign
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will begin the BJP’s Lok Sabha poll campaign in Uttarakhand on Tuesday by addressing a rally in Rudrapur, which is part of the Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar constituency.

Just a day after the PM’s rally, BJP president JP Nadda will begin his tour of the state during which he will address public meetings in Pithoragarh under the reserved Almora Lok Sabha seat and Vikasnagar under the Tehri Garhwal constituency. On 4 April, Nadda will hold a roadshow in Haridwar.
Polling to the five Lok Sabha seats of Uttarakhand will be held in the first phase on 19 April.
Rajnath Singh to address Army commanders’ conference
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will address a conference of army commanders today, during which the senior military leadership will also assess the overall security situation.
The conference, with its wide scope, ensures the Indian Army remains progressive, forward-looking, adaptive and future-ready, the Defence Ministry said.
Today the defence minister will deliver a keynote address at the conference. He will also interact with senior military leadership during the conference. The event will also be attended by the defence secretary and other senior officials from the Ministry of Defence.
Indonesia’s president-elect Prabowo will visit Japan
Indonesia’s president-elect Prabowo Subianto will visit Japan on 2-3 April, where he is set to meet Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and other officials.
Prabowo’s Tokyo trip will follow his visit to Beijing to meet Chinese president Xi Jinping on Monday, the president-elect’s first foreign tour less than two months after winning the race to succeed incumbent leader Joko Widodo.
Prabowo, a former special forces commander and the current defence minister, also plans to meet Japan’s defence minister Minoru Kihara.
The ‘Restoring Justice for Ukraine’ conference
Today, the Netherlands, Ukraine and the European Commission will co-host the international conference ‘Restoring Justice for Ukraine’ at the World Forum in The Hague. Foreign ministers and justice ministers from countries involved in the fight for justice for Ukraine since the start of the conflict will be able to voice their long-term support.
The conference will be chaired by the Dutch minister of foreign affairs, Hanke Bruins Slot, the Ukrainian minister of foreign affairs, Dmytro Kuleba, the Dutch minister for justice and security, Dilan Yeşilgöz, and the EU Commissioner for Justice, Didier Reynders.
Over 60 countries will participate in the conference, which aims to take stock on issues such as investigating war crimes and to further progress on objectives laid out in President Zelenskyy’s 10-point peace plan.
