Kejriwal’s ‘big expose’ in alleged scam

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal on Wednesday that her husband would make a “big expose” on the alleged excise policy scam.

She has claimed that no money was found in the multiple raids conducted by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

Sunita Kejriwal said that the Aam Aadmi Party national convenor would make the big expose in court on Thursday, and also present evidence.

ED summons Mahua Moitra

The Enforcement Directorate has summoned former Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra, who was expelled by Parliament’s ethics committee amid “cash-for-query” allegations, for the second time in connection with a FEMA violation case.

Businessman Darshan Hiranandani has also been called by the probe agency.

For the uninitiated, the TMC leader has been accused of taking Rs 2 crore in cash, as well as “luxury gift items,” from Hiranandani to ask questions critical of the government in Parliament.

Poland-Ukraine talks in Warsaw

The Polish and Ukrainian governments would meet in Warsaw on Thursday to discuss the protests by the farmers, who are angry over what they say is unfair competition from cheaper Ukrainian imports.

Farmers in Poland and elsewhere in the European Union have been protesting to demand the re-imposition of customs duties on agricultural imports from Ukraine that were waived after Russia’s invasion in 2022. They say Ukraine’s farmers are flooding Europe with cheap imports that leave them unable to compete.

“I have agreed with the prime minister of Ukraine for a meeting between the two governments, which will take place in Warsaw on 28 March, and I hope that by then technical talks will lead to a fruitful meeting,” Polish prime minister Donald Tusk told a press conference.

Notably, the development comes after the PM earlier didn’t accept a request by Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelenskyy for urgent talks on border blockades by Polish farmers.

EC to verify nomination details

The scrutiny of nomination forms will take place on Thursday, according to the Election Commission of India.

For those uninitiated, voting will be held in seven phases for a total of 543 seats in the Lok Sabha.

The first phase of the voting will be held on 19 April for 102 seats in different states.

Congress leaders to appear before Bengaluru court

A Bengaluru court has summoned former Congress president Rahul Gandhi, Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah, and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar to appear personally before it on Thursday in connection with a case filed by the BJP.

Special judge J Preeth also directed the registration of a criminal case against the accused persons, including the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee.

The BJP had accused the Congress leaders of putting out false advertisements against its party leaders, including the then Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Periyasamy to appear before special court

Tamil Nadu rural development minister I Periyasamy and other accused in a corruption case will appear before a Special Court for Trial of Criminal Cases on 28 March.

Justice N Anand Venkatesh had earlier said if the accused, including Periyasamy, adopt any dilatory tactics, the trial court can insist upon their presence and remand them in custody.

IPL 2024 – Rajasthan Royals VS Delhi Capitals

Delhi Capitals (DC) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) will face each other on 28 March at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

In the IPL 2024, this will be the second game for each team.
