Pakistan’s budget approval process

The Pakistan government is set to present its budget with an outlay of approximately Rs 18 trillion for the financial year 2024-25 on June 12. Swearing-in ceremony of Odisha’s new government

Odisha will witness the swearing-in ceremony of its new state government today. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won a majority in the Assembly state elections, marking the end of the decades-old Naveen Patnaik government. Odisha Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena announced that over 30,000 people, including senior guests and VIPs from various sectors, will attend the ceremony.

Police custody of Prajwal Revanna to expire

The police custody of former MP Prajwal Revanna, arrested on 31 May for sexual harassment charges, expires today. Revanna, who was apprehended by the Karnataka Police at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport, was later taken into custody by a special investigation team (SIT). The SIT sought the opinion of a panel of doctors at the Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical College and Research Centre in Bengaluru on Revanna’s physical and psychological functioning. The expiration of his custody marks a critical point in the ongoing investigation.

NSE introduces 1 paisa tick size

Starting Monday, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) will implement a 1 paisa tick size for all stocks below Rs 250. This change aims to improve liquidity and price discovery by encouraging traders to implement more trading strategies. Previously, the tick size for all stocks above Rs 15 was 5 paise. The move follows the Bombay Stock Exchange’s (BSE) implementation of a similar tick size for stocks below Rs 100 in March last year.
