US President Donald Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr and his girlfriend, Bettina Anderson, are now engaged to be married. The announcement came from the White House on Monday (December 15) during a holiday party. Reflecting on the buildup to the moment, Trump Jr remarked on the unpredictable nature of such big asks. He celebrated by happily confirming that Anderson had indeed said yes.

When invited to speak at the party, Anderson chose to express her deep appreciation for being at the White House. She specifically took a moment to praise to her soon-to-be mother-in-law, First Lady Melania Trump, for the thoughtful choices made in the holiday decorations. She further stated that Donald Trump Jr was the love of her life.

Who is Bettina Anderson?

Bettina Anderson was born in December 1986 and grew up in Palm Beach, Florida, where she still lives. Her father, Harry Loy Anderson Jr, was a well-known entrepreneur who became the youngest bank president in the US at 26 when he took charge of Worth Avenue National Bank.

Her mother, Inger Anderson, is a philanthropist. Together, they were active in civic life, including Harry’s roles with the Historical Society of Palm Beach County and the American Red Cross. The family has six children, including Anderson.

According to her LinkedIn, Anderson graduated from Columbia University in 2009 with a degree in art history, criticism, and conservation.

She volunteers with the Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County and is a young patron of The Everglades Foundation. Anderson has also modelled for the cover of Quest magazine, and was featured in Palm Beach Illustrated in 2021, which described her as an “ambassador of Palm Beach style and local ‘it’ girl.”

She’s also active in philanthropy. In 2021, she started Project Paradise Film Fund under The Paradise Fund, the nonprofit she founded to support disaster relief and environmental causes. The group released a short documentary titled ‘The Water State’, highlighting the vulnerability of Florida’s freshwater springs.

“One of the greatest focuses of my life is how I can be of service to others and be a steward of the environment,” Anderson told Fashion Week Daily in a 2022 interview.

In April 2023, she took on the responsibility of executive director for the nonprofit. Under her leadership, the organisation made the deliberate choice to rebrand itself as Paradise.ngo.

When did her relationship with Donald Trump Jr begin?

Donald Trump Jr was first linked to Anderson in August 2024, when the two were spotted having brunch in Palm Beach, Florida.

By December, their relationship appeared more visible; they were photographed holding hands during an evening walk in Palm Beach and later at her birthday dinner at Buccan.

At the time, Trump Jr was still engaged to Kimberly Guilfoyle, his partner since 2018. In September 2024, People magazine reported that the couple had been spending less time together.

A source told the outlet, “Don and Kim are over, but they are going to offer her some kind of administrative position so she will be happy.”

Not long after Trump Jr was publicly seen with Anderson, Donald Trump Sr nominated Guilfoyle to serve as US ambassador to Greece, something insiders described as a political way out.

In December, Trump Jr didn’t directly confirm the breakup but told Page Six that he and Guilfoyle “will always keep a special bond” and that he “could not be more proud of her and the important role she’ll continue to play in my father’s administration” as ambassador to Greece.

Anderson and Trump Jr later appeared together at Trump’s inauguration, widely seen as their first major public outing as a couple.

Her presence at Trump family events grew after that. She attended the Republican National Convention with Trump Jr in July 2024, seated just behind him and next to three of his children, only a few feet away from Guilfoyle. She was also photographed speaking with his ex-wife, Vanessa Trump.

Anderson and Trump Jr were seen at the wedding of Netra Mantena with Vamsi Gadiraju in Udaipur last month. Mantena is the daughter of US-based pharma billionaire Rama Raju Mantena, while Gadiraju is the co-founder and CTO of Superorder.

Anderson made an appearance during the sangeet ceremony on the insistence of Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh following his performance on the song “What Jhumka?” from his movie Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani.
