X has introduced a new feature called “Certified Bangers”, aimed at rewarding creators whose posts truly take off on the platform. The idea is simple, if your post goes viral, you could earn a shiny new Banger badge next to it.
In a statement, the Elon Musk-owned company, formerly known as Twitter, said, “We want to recognise and celebrate posts that move the platform — the ones that make people laugh, think, or talk. We want people to share original, engaging, and authentic content that shapes internet culture.”
According to X, the feature is still in its testing phase. The company explained that “Bangers will be ranked by the sum of authentic interactions, which include verified impressions, likes, bookmarks, reposts, and replies.”
We’re testing something new: Certified Bangers.
— Bangers (@Bangers) November 10, 2025
We want to recognize the very best posts that move the timeline, ranked by authentic interactions. If your post is featured, you will get a Certified Banger badge on your profile for the month.
Here are the top 5 Bangers for…
So who qualifies for these badges, and what do they actually mean for creators? Here’s a look at how the new feature works.
Criteria to get the ‘certified bangers’ badge
Though there is no minimum follower or engagement number, X has laid out certain benchmarks that need to be followed to be eligible for the special badge.
-The post needs to come from a personal account. Business, political, or government-affiliated accounts will not be eligible for the Bangers badge.
-Accounts in “good standing”. This, it says, means that the account should not have repeated or severe violations of X’s terms or rules and policies.
-Accounts that aren’t trying to game X’s system or algorithm will be eligible for the badge.

Will it benefit creators?
According to X, each month, five posts will be crowned as official “Certified Bangers,” and their creators will earn a special badge displayed on their profile for a month.
The company has clarified that the feature is still in its testing phase, meaning the exact benefits of holding a Banger badge are not yet known.
It’s unclear whether this recognition will come with financial perks, increased visibility, or simply serve as a bragging right within the community.
For comparison, X has previously said that verified users. those who subscribe to its premium plan, enjoy greater reach and visibility than regular accounts. So, users are now wondering if the new Banger badge might eventually offer similar advantages once the feature is fully rolled out.

Which posts are eligible?
To qualify for the Certified Bangers badge, X says posts must meet a few key criteria.
First, the content needs to be original — reposted or plagiarised material won’t make the cut. Posts must also steer clear of sexually explicit content, advertisements, sponsored posts, or anything misleading, harassing, or graphically violent.
At the moment, only English-language posts are being reviewed for potential “Banger” status.
The official @Bangers account has already revealed its top five Bangers for October, all of which came from verified users — even though the platform initially said “anyone can be selected.”
Among the winning posts was one that humorously read, “can yall pls tell me the lore behind your profile pictures."
Now, users are wondering who might be next — maybe even writer Joyce Carol Oates, who’s known for her viral takes, could snag a gold badge in November.
