Donald Trump’s love for gold throughout his life has been well documented.
From the apartment in Trump Tower to his casinos and even his private jet, Trump has surrounded himself with gold.
Now, the real estate billionaire has done the same to the Oval Office less than two months after returning as US president.
Let’s take a closer look:
Gold, gold everywhere
As per CNN, Trump has made gold ubiquitous in the Oval Office.
There are new gold covered figurines on the mantle and medallions above the fireplace.
The side tables have been decorated with gold eagles, while the doors are decked with gilded Rococo mirrors.

Above the doorways, diminutive gold cherubs sent from Mar-a-Lago hang.
A shiny gold replica of the FIFA World Cup Trophy, known as the Jules Rimet Trophy, sits behind Trump’s desk.
Even the TV remote control is wrapped in gold.
Seven gold artifacts, arranged in a row next to a tall empire-style centrepiece, sit on the mantlepiece.
Gold cups have been placed above the windows and the wall.
A gold paperweight embossed with the word Trump has been placed on the coffee table.
As per The Independent, the room is now more reminiscent of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida or his Fifth Avenue in Manhattan.
That, incidentally, is where Trump descended on the famous golden escalator with his wife Melania in June 2015 to announce his bid for the US presidency.
The decorations have not gone unnoticed.
“Every president has a right to decorate the Oval Office,” an ex-White House official who has worked for Democratic and Republican administrations, told CNN. “But his décor is so weirdly un-presidential, it’s more king-like.”
That isn’t the only decorating change.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Trump has brought in a painting of Andrew Jackson, a portrait of George Washington above the fireplace, a bust of Winston Churchill, along with a Trumpian-touch: a button that the president pushes to order a Diet Coke.
Trump has also hung a copy of the Declaration of Independence in the Oval Office, according to images he shared on social media.
The Republican president’s official account on X showed two images Monday of a framed copy of the historical document hanging on the wall not far from the president’s desk.
In one image, Trump is moving aside heavy dark blue curtains hung around the document to look underneath.
It was not immediately clear where the copy came from and when it was installed.
“The Nationals Archives delivered the Declaration of Independence to the White House at the President’s request. It is displayed in the Oval Office where it will be carefully protected and preserved,” press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement.
The original version of the Declaration of Independence is very faded and displayed in the Archives’ building. On the version hanging in the White House, according to the images posted, the words are clear and legible.
