The Aero India 2025 is set to kick off today (February 10) in Bengaluru.
The event is organised by the Defence Exhibition Organisation, Department of Defence Production and the Ministry of Defence.
It will go on till February 14.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said he will be attending the event.
“Leaving New Delhi for Bengaluru to attend the 15th edition of Biennial Aero-India. Aero India 2025 will showcase cutting-edge defence technologies and global aviation excellence. Looking forward to witness the future of aerospace sector,” Singh wrote on X.

The Aero India takes place every two years.
It is Asia’s largest air show.
Aero India 2025 will held at Bengaluru’s Yelahanka Air Force Station.
This is the 15th edition of the event.
This year’s theme is “The Runway to a Billion Opportunities.”
The event comprises a curtain raiser event, inaugural event, Defence Ministers’ Conclave, CEOs’ Round-Table, iDEX start-up event, breath-taking air shows, a large exhibition area comprising India Pavilion and a trade fair of aerospace companies.
The first three days are open for businesses, while the last two days are open to the public.
As per Moneycontrol, the Aero India show is famed for spectacular flyovers, aerobatic performances, and cutting-edge technology.

SU-57 and F-35
As per Moneycontrol, Russia’s Su-57 and USA’s F-35 – two fifth-generation fighter aircrafts – are sharing an airstrip for the first time.
While the Su-57 will also perform aerial acrobatics, the F-35 is being kept on display.
According to The Print, both fighter planes were earlier set to take to the skies during the event.
This is the first time the SU-57 is participating in the Aero India event.
As per New Indian Express, both US and Russia are looking to sell their planes to India – which currently lacks a fifth-gen fighter plane.
The US is also putting on display its F-16 fighter jet, KC-135 stratotanker, and B-1 bomber.
Jorgan Andrews, Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy in New Delhi, will lead the high-level US delegation of representatives from the US Departments of State, Defence, and Commerce.
The United States Air Force Band of the Pacific’s 10-member ensemble, Final Approach, based out of Yokota Air Base in Japan, will also perform for the public.
AMCA on display
According to The Print, India is trying to develop its own fifth generation fighter.
A model of this advanced medium combat aircraft (AMCA), which is still being designed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), will likely be put on display at the Aero India.
“The present model being displayed is contemporary as of today and will be evolved during the development. This practice is followed across the globe by any combat aircraft design house,” DRDO sources told The Hindu.
As per India TV News, HAL is set to put the indigenous LCA Mk1A fighter and LCA Mk1 trainer on display.
The outlet quoted HAL as saying the CATS Warrior system, AMCA and RUAV would also be showcased at the ‘Make in India’ pavilion.
As pe_r Moneycontrol_, CATS is a futuristic unmanned combat air vehicle.
HAL is also going to put on display the Light Utility Helicopter, a state-of-the-art craft, Hindustan Turbo Trainer (HTT)-40 Simulator, and scaled models of Hindustan Jet Trainer (HJT)-36, HTT-40, LCH and ALH Mk IV.
BEL weapons systems
Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) is set to showcase a number of its weapons systems.
This includes Software Defined Radio, Radio on the Move, and High Capacity Radio Relay, electro-optic devices such as Uncooled Thermal Imager Sight for Assault Rifles, Passive Night Vision Goggles, and the Border Observation Surveillance System.
BEL will showcase products such as the Stall Protection System for helicopters, Digital Flight Control Computer, and Tactical Data Link for naval platforms.
Shipborne systems on display will include the Passive Hydrophone Element (Low and Medium Frequency), HUMSA-NG Transducer Element, and the Ship-based SIGINT EW System.
BEL will also present weapon systems such as the Pralay Missile, Long Range Land Attack Cruise Missile, and QRSAM. Land-based electronic warfare systems will feature the Portable Anti-Drone System and Ground-Based ELINT System.
Additionally, the exhibition will include arms and ammunition such as the Corner Shot Weapon System, Electronic Artillery Fuzes, and Long Range Glide Bomb.
Radar systems on display will include the Air Defence Fire Control Radar, Arudhra Radar, Ashwini Radar, and Multi-Function Radar.
BEL will also showcase futuristic and cutting-edge technologies such as 5G Solutions for Defence, Quantum Cryptography, Unmanned Warfare Technology, Space Situational Awareness and Theatre Command; Upgraded Ku Band Exciter, Direct RF Signal Processing and Digital Light Engine, said the release.
Apart from these, on show will be the latest Artificial Intelligence based products like Generative AI-based Virtual Assistants, AI-based Language Translation Solutions and AI-enabled Speech Analysis & Voice Translation Systems.
