Zarine Khan's daughter Farah Khan Ali pens emotional note for her late mother: 'Born a Parsi, married as a Muslim and cremated according to Hindu rites'

Zayed Khan and Sussanne Khan’s mother and veteran actor Sanjay Khan’s wife Zarine Khan passed away recently at the age of 81. Many people from the industry like Hrithik Roshan, Jackie Shroff, and Rakul Preet Singh arrived at the Khan residence to pay their respects. And her daughter Farah Khan Ali has paid an emotional tribute to her late mother.

What Farah wrote on Instagram

Farah wrote on her Instagram: My mother Zarine Khan was a very special woman. Her philosophy of life was to “Forgive and Forget”. She was kind hearted, loved by all her friends and family and cared deeply for one and all. She was the bond that kept our family together. Born a Parsi, Married as a Muslim and cremated according to Hindu rites. She epitomised Humanity and is someone whose legacy we hope to live.

When Zarine Khan spoke about Hrithik Roshan

He is the father of my grandchildren and we are bonded for life. When the divorce went through, she (Sussanne) didn’t make a hue and cry. We are a family and we always have been family and friends together.

Zarine Khan also opened up about her daughter’s new love of life Arslan Goni . “He has studied law and belongs to a reputed political family in Jammu. He’s also interested in acting, so I wish him all the best for that. His family is very good, and I am glad that Susanne and Arslan are happy together,” said Zarine while talking to ETimes.

When asked whether marriage was on the cards soon? She replied, “If you find happiness with someone today, you are lucky. One does not know what lies in store in the future. Today, life is what you make of it… the age-old notion that you have to be married to be happy and settled, no longer holds true now. Women are independent, established in their careers and also want to make their own decisions. And marriage is a bond, which not always keeps you bonded for life. So, I am happy to see that Arslan and Susanne are happy together and focused on their career.”

Sussanne Khan was wedded to Hrithik Roshan from 2000 to 2014. They are parents to two kids - Hrehaan and Hridhaan. While Sussanne has been with Arslan, Hrithik Roshan is dating actor-musician Saba Azad.

Arslan featured in Tanaav, which released in November 2022. The show also starred Arbaaz Khan, Manav Vij, Danish Husain, Ekta Kaul, M. K. Raina, Rajat Kapoor, Satyadeep Mishra, Shashank Arora, Sumit Kaul, Sukhmani Sadana, Waluscha De Sousa and Zarina Wahab in prominent roles.
