The Women’s Cricket World Cup will always be a night to remember and many entertainment personalities extended their congratulations at the feat. India beat South Africa in the final to create their moment of history and honour. The wishes are still pouring in on social media.
Wishes from Bollywood
The celebrities that extended their wishes are Hrithik Roshan, Junior NTR, Kareena Kapoor, Preity Zinta, SS Rajamouli, Ajay Devgn, Suniel Shetty, and many more. Kareena even attended the semi finals. As India made history, the actress wrote:
“A proud moment for INDIA, for SPORT, for each and every GIRL who dared to dream… 2-11-2025, A date to be remembered …A date etched in history …
Salute to the Indian women’s cricket team 🇮🇳… You are the real heroes and have shown the world how it’s done… A heartfelt congratulations to each and every player❤️ After all who said GIRLS can’t have it all ? 😇😇❤️🌈
CHARDI KALA."
“HISTORIC! Congratulations Team India on our first Women’s Cricket World Cup win. To the beginning of many more.. All my love & respect,” tweeted the War actor.
Mahesh Babu wrote- “What a surreal moment… History added its proudest chapter with the tricolour flying higher than ever…🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳 The Indian Women’s Team has shown extraordinary composure and character throughout the tournament…💥💥💥 And this champions’ moment defines everything India stands for…”
A PR gimmick?
But what was surprising was that no Bollywood celebrity was clicked at the finals that happened at Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium. The ones who were spotted were Nita Ambani, Jay Shah, Rohit Sharma, Sachin Tendulkar, Jhulan Goswami, and many more, but no Bollywood star in sight.
This means their wishes on Instagram was nothing but a gimmick to attract traction and eyeballs. Maybe next time!
