Sean Kingston, his personal bodyguard and one of his band member are being sued by a woman who claims that these three men gangraped her in 2010 after a Justin Bieber concert.
According to a TMZ report, the incident took place at a meet-and-greet organised in a Seattle hotel, after the Beiber concert was over. Carissa Capeloto, the victim who was a teenager back then went to meet Kingston in an intoxicated state and was allegedly raped. She had smoked marijuana and downed 7-10 shots of vodka on the night the attack took place, before she was invited to Kingston’s hotel room and hence wasn’t in the condition to give her consent or stop the rape. Reportedly she was later rescued by a friend when police were called and she was taken to a hospital and treated for physical injuries consistent with rape.
The lawsuit filed by Capeloto states that she was ‘obviously intoxicated, incapable of consent’ at the time of the incident. She has filed a case against all three men and have asked a minimum of $5 million as a compensation.
Criminal charges against Kingston were dropped in 2010 after authorities concluded that Capeloto didn’t have a ‘credible enough’ case. Kingston in fact has maintained till now that the sex was consensual and Capeloto wasn’t forced.
