Since the start of his career, S Sreesanth has been in the limelight for not always the right reasons. From his
intense sledging
to
his pelvic thrusts dance moves
after hitting South African bowler Andre Nel for a 6, he has been the wild child of Indian cricket. This was highlighted when he was under the scanner for spot-fixing allegations in the IPL and imprisoned. While he has been let off by the courts, he continues to be banned from playing competitive cricket by the BCCI. However, it would appear that he already has alternate career option - as an actor. He is all set to make his Bollywood debut in Pooja Bhatt’s film Cabaret, where he will be playing a negative character. And now he has is said to have got an even bigger and better onscreen opportunity - the role of a hero in a big budget movie which tells a spicy story of a cricketer and IPL, according to PTI. It will be directed by renowned filmmaker Sana Yadireddy and will will be dubbed into 14 Indian languages. This got us thinking, what if Sreesanth becomes a major film star, what are the kind of movies he could star in if he took up acting full-time? Dance Movie
We all know that Sreesanth can shake a leg. No, we are not talking about his crazy ‘dance’ moves on field, but actual choreographed sequences as seen on dance reality shows like
Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa
and
Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena.
His typical break-dance moves, popularized by every street dancer, will make him the perfect casting choice for a dance-based movie. Bonus: He would provide adequate drama to take the story ahead. ABCD 3, may be? Legal Thriller
Thanks to his frequent visits to the courts in his IPL spot-fixing case, Sreesanth is no stranger to courtroom drama. May be he can channelize this experience to give an award-winning, nail-biting performance on the unpredictability of legal thrillers. Question is, who will he play - the accused, the lawyer or the judge? Personally, we picture him in the role of a verbose, aggressive lawyer not letting his opponents get a word in. Family drama
Remember Sreesanth’s
crying after an IPL match
vs Mumbai Indians when he played for Kings XI Punjab? While the cause of the weeping has long been speculated (from Harbhajan Singh’s s slap to Prity Zinta’s hug), it does prove one thing - Sreesanath can give us a convincing, tear-jerking performance in a family drama film about sacrifice and sanskaar. Someone call Rajashri Productions, quick! Biopic
With films such as Azhar and MS Dhoni: The Untold Story in the pipeline, nobody will be surprised if there’s a biopic on Sreesanth very soon. Controversy’s child throughout his career, a film based on his life has the potential to be thoroughly entertaining. And unlike Emraan Hashmi and Sushant Singh Rajput playing the role of the cricketers, Sreesanth, the actor has the chance to be the star of his own biographical film. How often does that happen!
