The King Khan of Shah Rukh Khan enjoyed a phenomenal 2023 as his three back-to-back releases Pathaan (Rs 1050.30 crore), Jawan (Rs 1148.32 crore) and Dunki (Rs 470.60 crore) earned Rs 2669.22 crore at the global box office.

However, this rare and humongous box office record has been shattered by Rashmika Mandanna, who is fondly called ‘National Crush’ by her fans. Talking about the global business of her last three films, Animal raked in Rs 917.82 crore while Pushpa 2 collected Rs 1850 crore. Chhaava , which released last Friday, earned Rs 190 crore in just 4 days and is on a record-breaking spree. The total collection is 2957.82 crore with the latest one expecting to add at least Rs 200 crore more to it.

While Rashmika is turning out to be the box office queen, the diva will continue its dominance at the ticket windows as her upcoming movies include Sikandar with Salman Khan, Thama with Ayushmann Khurrana (Maddock Horror universe), Pushpa 3 with Allu Arjun, Animal Park with Ranbir Kapoor and a woman-centric pan-India movie titled The Girlfriend.

Talking about Chhaava, the film is based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. It is adapted from Shivaji Sawant’s book of the same name. Directed by Laxman Utekar of Luka Chuppi and Mimi fame, the biographical war period drama also features Vicky Kaushal, Akshaye Khanna, Diana Penty, Ashutosh Rana, Vineet Kumar Singh, Divya Dutta, Kiran Karmarkar, Sarang Sathaye, Suvrat Joshi, Ankit Anil Sharma, Shubhankar Ekbote, Shivraj Walvekar, Akshay Anand Kohli, Rakesh Theraja and Neil Bhoopalam among others. It marks the second collaboration between Laxman, Vicky and producer Dinesh Vijan after Zara Hatke Zara Bachke.
