Will record Zinta's statement once she is back, says Mumbai Police chief
Indicating that the cops are investigating all angles of the alleged Ness Wadia-Preity Zinta case, Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria today said the actor is returning from abroad to Mumbai this week to record her supplementary statement.
"Preity Zinta contacted us through her lawyer, and said she will come back to India this week. Once Zinta is back, we will record her statement," Maria said at a press conference in Mumbai.
He said that the police are thoroughly investigating the alleged incident involving the Bollywood actor and industrialist Ness Wadia.
"We have also asked Sony, which has broadcast rights, to give us available footage. We have asked BCCI for CCTV footage of the incident," the Mumbai Police chief said.
Regarding underworld threats to Nusli Wadia, father of Ness and chairman of Bombay Dyeing on Tuesday, Maria said, "We are also probing the details of five telephone calls made to Nusli Wadia and are still verifying them. The SMSes have been traced to Iran."
On 13 June 2014, Zinta had filed an FIR against Ness Wadia, alleging he had molested, threatened and abused her at an IPL match at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on 30 May.
