When Jaya Bachchan revealed she likes Aishwarya Rai's quality to 'stand behind': 'She listens and...'

Ever since Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai arrived separately at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding, there have been talks that all is not well between the duo and these speculations rose when the Dhoom star liked a post, which spoke about divorce and its increasing trend.

Amid these speculations, an interview of Jaya Bachchan from Koffee With Karan has surfaced, where she spoke about Aishwarya’s role in the Bachchan family.

Abhi and Ash tied the knot in 2007 and in the same year, Jaya appeared in KWK along with her daughter Shweta Nanda. When Karan Johar asked the veteran actress about her daughter-in-law, Jaya replied, “She is lovely. I love her. I have always loved her. I have never ever seen her push herself whenever we are all together. I like that quality of hers to stand behind. She is quiet. She listens and she is taking it all in. And another beautiful thing is that she has fitted in so well in the family. She knows who are our good friends.”

When KJo suggested that Aishwarya could relieve Jaya of some of her burdens, she replied, “Hopefully. I am hoping that she will take a lot more than just ‘some’.” Shweta humorously interjected and warned her mother not to overwhelm Ash too quickly.
