The three Khans of Bollywood — Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan have been ruling the entertainment industry for over three decades now. However, during the promotions of his 2016 biographical sports drama Dangal, Aamir said SRK and Salman are bigger stars than him and compared himself to a ‘waiter’ in front of them.
When questioned whether Salman is a bigger star than him, Aamir replied, “He’s always been a bigger star than me. There’s nothing new. I always considered Shah Rukh, Salman, and Amitabh Bachchan bigger stars. There are a host of stars whom I consider big, and this includes Hrithik Roshan, Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh. There are so many stars who are hugely popular. I don’t get into comparisons."
“When I see Salman walking into a room, it feels like a star has arrived. When I enter, it looks as if a waiter has entered. I’m sorry, I shouldn’t say that because waiters are great people. I shouldn’t say that, but when Salman enters or Shah Rukh enters, it feels like a star has come… they are bigger stars than me," he added.
On the professional front, Aamir Khan was last seen in Rajinikanth’s Coolie in a cameo appearance, where he played the character of an antagonist named Dahaa. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the movie also featured Nagarjuna, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir and Sathyaraj.
Before Coolie, he garnered critical acclaim and commercial success for Sitaare Zameen Par. The sports drama also starred Genelia D’Souza, Dolly Ahluwalia, Brijendra Kala, Nikhat Khan, Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar in prominent roles. It was directed by RS Prasanna of Shubh Mangal Saavdhan fame.
