Dino Morea, who was seen in Netflix’s ‘The Royals’ recently, has been summoned by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai Police in the alleged ₹65 crore Mithi River desilting scam. Also being questioned is his brother and the prime accused Ketan Kadam.
The news agency ANI tweeted, “Actor Dino Morea is being questioned by EOW of the Mumbai Police in connection with the Mithi River cleaning scam. His name came up in the investigation for having connections with one of the arrested accused in the matter: Mumbai police.”
What is the scam all about?
As per reports, the scam is about the financial irregularities in the purchase of silt pusher machines and dredging equipment by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The EOW recently arrested two accused in the case- Ketan Kadam and Jayesh Joshi.
Ketan is the director of Woder India LLP, a Mumbai-based company that’s involved in providing desilting services.
Jayesh is on the other hand involved with Virgo Specialties. 13 people have already been booked in connection to the scam. Dino Morea’s name cropped up after multiple telephonic conversations between him, his brother, and Keshav were unearthed. The actor is yet to break silence on the same.
