Popular for his unique approach towards filmmaking and unconventional way of storytelling, Bejoy Nambiar earned widespread applause for his critically acclaimed 2016 film Wazir. Recently, the director recounted his collaboration with Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar in the film. Reminiscing about working with talented actors, Bejoy expressed deep admiration for both and also expressed his eagerness to work with them again.
Director Bejoy Nambiar, in an interview with India Today, revealed he was in talks with Farhan Akhtar for various projects but nothing came to fruition. Elaborating on the reason behind the same, the director noted that Farhan is mostly engrossed in directing another project whenever they seem to finalise a project.
Ahead, Bejoy expressed his desire to work with Amitabh Bachchan again and said, “I would love to work with him again. It’s everyone’s dream to just keep working with him again and again. There was so much grace in the way they both went about it. I look back at that experience, with a lot of fondness. I got to learn so much, just being on the set with both of them. I would love to collaborate with both of them.”
In response to the question about the other stars he would like to collaborate with, the director said, “Recently, I guess because I watched Side B, I saw these phenomenal actors, Rakshit Shetty, Chaithra J Achar, and Rukmini Vasanth along with Kannada actor Raj B Shetty. These are actors that I would love to work with. When I watched the film, I liked it so much that I flew down to meet them, just to sit and talk about the film. I liked it so much.” He concluded, “Other than these actors, I would love to work with Jaydeep Ahlawat on something too.”
Earlier, Bejoy had also expressed his wish to remake the Malayalam film ‘Innale.’ Directed by Padmarajan, the film, upon its release in 1990, was welcomed with a positive response from the audience for its gripping narrative, powerful performances, and soulful music.
Meanwhile, Bejoy’s last film was Dange. Released in theatres on March 1, the film also featured Harshvardhan Rane, Ehan Bhat, and Nikita Dutta.
