Raveena Tandon’s comeback film Maatr is set to hit screens on 21 April and we are ready to see her in a fierce, sombre avatar.
The logo and teaser poster of the film are out. The logo has ‘Maatr’ written in haunting red letters that look like blood. Here’s a glimpse of the logo:
The teaser trailer starts off with the question ‘Justice or Justify?’ This is followed by a series of words like power, money, control, politics, discrimination, inequality, lawlessness, assault, harassment with ‘injustice’ screaming in bold in the last shot.
Paired with a hair-raising background score, the teaser ironically states that, “Boys are boys, they make mistakes. We should stop our women from wearing jeans.”
In the end, Raveena Tandon comes with a strong message which says, “When justice is denied, it’s time to rise.”
In a recent statement , Raveena did confirm that her film deals with a strong message about zero tolerance towards any form of violence against women and is not necessarily about the struggle of a mother. Here’s the teaser:
Directed by Ashtar Sayed and penned down by Michael Pellico, the film is touted to be an action-thriller. As implied by the title, the film features Tandon as a mother. Maatr also features Madhur Mittal and Divya Jagdale in significant roles. The poster, which was released earlier this week, sees the word mother in different languages etched on Tandon’s face.
