Watch: Teaser trailer of new Superman film 'Man of Steel'

With the Batman trilogy of films ending with The Dark Knight Rises, the next big superhero film from the DC comics stable is perhaps the Superman film titled Man of Steel and feeding the buzz is the latest teaser trailer of the film.

Directed by Zack Snyder, best known for his interpretations of graphic novels 300 and Watchmen, the trailer was first released at the recently concluded Comic Con.

The trailer begins with moody music with Henry Cavill, who plays Superman, on a fishing trawler and later attempting to get a lift even as a sombre Kevin Costner, who plays his father Jonathan Kent, speaks sombrely in the background.

Moody and dark, the teaser features just one shot of Superman breaking the sound barrier twice over as he flies towards space.

With a star cast featuring the likes of Russel Crowe (playing Jor El, (Superman’s father on Krypton and last played by Marlon Brando), Costner, Micheal Shannon, Amy Adams and Laurence Fishburne (for more details on the star cast click here ) the next installment promises to be one of the blockbusters to watch out for. It doesn’t hurt that Christopher Nolan is one of the producers.

Given the last Superman film was the disappointing Bryan Singer Superman Returns, fans of the man of steel can hope for something better this time.
