The Late Late Show with James Corden finally saw the multiple time Grammy Award winning singer Sam Smith appear on Corden’s popular sketch Carpool Karaoke, where together they belted all of Smith’s big hits including the international crossover hit ‘Stay With Me.’ The 15-minute long fun-filled video was the usual mix of little known anecdotes and jokes. Sam Smith talked about meeting Ryan Gosling and a quirky dream wedding plan that had Corden in splits. “I’m in a coffin and there’s all these PowerPoint presentations about my single life and how fun it was. Everyone’s crying, and then I rise from the coffin. Everyone takes off their black clothes and they’re wearing white, and then the wedding begins,” explained Smith. When they performed the soulful ‘Lay Me Down’ together, Sam Smith revealed to James Corden that an early tweet by him praising the song was one of the first ones by a celebrity and had helped the star, who was waiting bars at the time.

But the best bit was saved for the last when Sam Smith, who is a big fan of the all-female group Fifth Harmony, was surprised by the girls climbing in the backseat to sing his favourite ‘Work From Home,’ a song he wants to walk down the aisle to at his wedding. An ecstatic Sam kept repeating that this was his dream and that he is shaking. The artist has joined the list of celebrity singers like Madonna, Adele and Miley Cyrus in this hugely popular segment from the James Corden’s show. The ‘Stay With Me’ star’s latest release is the single ‘Too Good At Goodbyes,’ which debuted at number one in the United Kingdom in September.
